Today in "Mycological Knowledge Being Helpful in Other Areas," I decided to give mint cuttings another go before fall starts in earnest.  Last ones started growin mold in the dirt, so I figured why not start over with fucking inert rock.

Enter our good friend: tasty tasty vermiculite.  Sucks up water faster'n my fat ass used to suck up Dr. Pepper.  And, nothin eats it.  Because it's a fucking inert rock.  Brought some up to field capacity and went PF Tek style w/ some rootin hormone.  Shoved some new cuttings in there, kinda packed the verm around the ends, and let er rip.

Seems to be doing decent, thus far.  Usually, by now, they'd be all wilty and sad, but I see no wilt!  Hopeful huzzah!

Once you realize that the number one reason cuttings die is due to infection, rooting becomes much easier.  I use bleach to sanitize the medium and get 100% strike rates pretty consistently.

Root them in a glass of water. Stick in soil under shade. Don't use domes, propagators, just make sure they don't get full sun. They only need the tiniest rootball to not dry out. Mold is often a sign of too high RH / too little air exchange

I grew many hundreds of aquatica and piperita in that way

Verm is an awesome way to root plant cuttings. I just cleaned up a potted hoya and stuck any viable parts I cut off into individual sandwich bags with wet verm in them and a shitload of holes poked in the top half, kinda like a fahtlock. After a week you could see all the new roots growing through the verm. I also recently inherited an old neglected monstera and I finally got the courage to chop one of the leading runners off the other day and stick it in some verm to try and start back from a plant that isn't a huge tangled mess.

I confess, I ate mushrooms too frequently this spring and early summer. Made me unstable and emotional.

I was looking for a good dose and a bit of escape. Ended up forcing myself into an extended break, no minor or micro dosing even.

Yeah it's fun, but have you ever tried it high?

At least you don't have people flaming you in the pub for getting banned from the OTD permanently.
The amount of work this website puts into defending OTD makes you feel like it's integral absolutely necessary without that there is nothing. The website doesn't matter as long as OTD is intact.

If someone gets of by smearing themselves with shit, you won't faze them if you throw some their way.

I'm out of touch but it seems to me this is almost a classic raid.
Yall can't get riled by otd.  It's letting them land their joke

Well, Iโ€™ve been banned from OTD. Iโ€™m not sure how Iโ€™m going to be able to get through this. Iโ€™m heartbroken.
