Are you saying that in that post I wanted to make striking illegal? I was merely pointing out that nothing Trump did is unprecedented with regards to past administrations. I mean even under Obama ICE killed US citizens, but ok let's say Trump's was egregiously over the top as that occurred during a protest. Warren Harding literally bombed striking miners. I mean LBJ's administration had the national guard kill four anti-war protesters at Kent State. I think strikes, and more importantly boycotts, are important tools for the working and middle classes to push their interests.

Crank up the global warming, and we could get reasonably decent growing conditions.

Continue the war on undocumented immigrants in the usual fashion, i.e., do enough damage to keep them in fear for their safety, but not so much that you actually lose that captive cheap labor pool.

Continue to destabilize the countries where those crops are grown, so you can get lots of asylum cases coming in from those places. Then cancel protected status.

Now you got it all. Against the backdrop of an already completely fucked-up southeastern US, you got a homegrown version of tropical crops grown by underpaid and abused laborers against the backdrop of a repressive government in a Banana Republic.

I bet we could pull all that off and still pay no more than $50 for a lb of coffee, or $5 for one banana.

Trump has been president for 20 months and we’ve added a total of 734K jobs in that period. During bidens 48 months in office, we added 14.9 million jobs. At some point even the right has to admit his economic policies have been a total failure. Todays report shows only 29K new jobs in September, and a downward revision of 60K for august and July.

I find it interesting that the number of foreign born workers has risen by 200K in the past year with unemployment dropping from 4.1 to 3.2%. Meanwhile the number of native born workers has dropped by over a million, with unemployment barely changed at 4.2%

There doesn’t seem to be any benefit whatsoever to the immigration crackdown for American workers

There is one benefit...lifelong loyalty from bigots and xenophobes.
