You're dreaming if you think Trump giving tons of weapons, intelligence, and money to Ukraine makes him a Russian asset. No one said he's running the war. Idk enough about the operation the other poster referred to, but the USA is 100% giving intelligence to Ukraine, as is France and the UK.

Let me ask you a question, who do you think has done more for Ukraine, Trump or Germany?

Trump doesn't give money to ukraine.  Congress does and trump either try's to stop it or lets it go.  Sometimes like the housing, he just lets it go but is not part of it based on political pressure.  last term trump removed sanctions on russia and congress had to pass laws for sanctions.  You sometimes give credit where it is not due. Yes, pressure can even work on traitors.  They don't call him toco for nothing.

I think the Ukraine Russia dynamic with Trump is more nuanced than people frame it. Yes, the Trump admin has done things which support Ukraine recently. And in the recent past, many of his positions appeared overtly pro-Russian in the actual effects they would have.

But I think that policy flip lined up very neatly with the very public Epstein drama. Absent any other information, my sense is that Putin was using some of that information that was originally private as political blackmail, and was using it successfully over Trump to get various types of concessions.

I wouldn't paint Trump as a Russian sympathizer - as soon as the Epstein files drama became very public he appeared to gradually divest himself from some of those more questionable relationship and policy choices with Russia as more and more Epstein information became available or publicly stonewalled.

Many of the most substantial policy flips occurred after that drama settled almost as a deliberate fuck you for having put him in a years long blackmail position in the first place.

I think the prospect of a sitting president being sympathetic to foreign aristocracies is worrying, but one being effectively blackmailed by 3 or 4 of them simultaneously (Russia, Israel, Saudi Arabia) whom all have competing geopolitical interests that don't align appears to explain a lot of the questionable foreign policy motives going back over the last decade, and is just as if not more worrying than a president motivated by sympathetic motives alone.

The GOP controls the house and the senate, and they all adhere to Trump for fear of being primaried. If he didn't want that going to Ukraine, it wouldn't go to Ukraine.

Germany has provided over €100 billion in bilateral aid to Ukraine since 2022, including nearly €57.6 billion in military support and more than €43.3 billion in civilian aid as of mid-2026

Meanwhile the Trump admin has given more than the Biden admin has.



over 127 billion USD delivered. A lot more allocated. On top of that, Trump bombed Iran and crippled the global oil economy. Weirdly after that, Russia ran out of gas. It makes sense, cause Russia gets a lot of it's oil from Iran.

Trump as in the Trump administration. Trump, using his position as president and leader of the GOP, has done more for Ukraine than Germany has. Germany initially was like, nah we're not giving anything. Then they were like, oh yea we'll give a bunch of helmets. And as a parliamentary system, it's not the same as saying Ursula whatever her name is.

Most people in the US knows what it means, and his backing down happened on a couple of Tuesdays for some reason. Its been a while since, but it was good for a laugh at the time.
