I am initiating the project of increasing my PE cultures to become faster colonizers and to increase their overall potency.

How shall I go about this?

Well, I guess you should make multiple plates from spores and test them. You can easily observe growth speed. You should probably take the first mushroom that appears, clone it, and run the whole procedure again on that clone.

You will need to measure potency somehow. You have two options:
1. Miraculix test kitsβ€”here, the version with a photometer is best (it is also cheaper if you run a lot of tests, which your project will require).
2. HPLC: You can find a lab that does this testing and send them your samples.

There is also the question of sample size. The bigger the sample size for a given clone, the higher your confidence will be with the measurements.

For the guys and gals who have experience with Amanita Muscaria, how much would be reasonable to ingest on my first dose and do I just dry it to prep it or is there a more recommended procedure to lessen the "toxicity"?

Here is an 18 year old trip report of the fly agaric, he made a "soup" out of it

This one is more recent report from '02 and he took like 2 grams

I would personally take the literal lowest dose possible just as an introduction course, But ive never had them before

Tips for agar getting stuck to scalpel? Had a very frustrating experience today, the wedge just wouldn't come off into the grain jars 😭.

Bigger wedge size or higher agar % in recipe maybe?

You can use the inside jar rim to get the wedge off

I'll try that next time πŸ™πŸ»

Can potency testing labs in CO or OR (e.g. Tryptomics) accept samples from out of state? Particularly states that have not legalized or decriminalized psilocybin?

I’ve been searching for an answer and found conflicting responses.

A. Muscaria contains toxins which will destroy your liver...
THere are some "Methods" that some people used to
de-toxify the mushroom but its liver (high) liver
toxicity makes it a bad tradeoff.

Use psilocybin instead or get drunk...

Probably easiest to just send them an email. My guess is they will then say no because that's a conspiracy to ship drugs across state lines

I think you're mixing it up with species like Amanita Phalloides which contains Amatoxin but Amanita Muscaria doesn't produce Amatoxin or anything else which damages the liver as far as I know.

Amanita Muscaria with its incredibly low death numbers is much safer than alcohol, especially for an ex alcoholic like me:shrug:

Ofc Psilocybin is awesome but I'm curious over how muscimol feels so even if Psilocybin is awesome it won't help lessen my curiosity:lol:

Cheers bro

MY grandfather was stomach pumped after ingesting it..as far as I know its toxicity is bad for the liver ..but you may be right, but i wouldnt gamble with my liver...

the high is as far as Ive been described: A big massive yulk of a puke fest or massive loss of motor skills...then I bet alcohol is a bit safer...dont know if the viking stories are true...
I wouldnt gamble with it..

You sure those were Amanita Muscaria?

The viking theory is an old myth, there isn't any evidence of mushroom use this far back but some other people have used muscimol historically and clean it by making reindeer eat it then they harvest their... Piss... And yeah you probably know where this is going

This was my assumption as well, so was hoping to get a definitive answer from someone who might have already tried. Holding off on contacting them directly for fear of getting blacklisted.

I have tested some samples with the Miraculix QTest and was hoping to somehow get them verified via a legit lab.

Fresh there is an significant amount of ibotenic acid, which will upset the stomach, like vomiting, gas and sweating. If you dehydrated it to cracker dry a lot of the ibotenic acid will be converted to muscimol.

The rest is from the web and I take no responsibility

Prepare the water: Bring water to a boil, then reduce it to a low simmer.

Adjust pH (Optional but recommended): Add lemon juice to drop the pH of the water to roughly 2.5 to 3.0, which acts as a catalyst for chemical conversion.

Simmer: Add the dried caps and simmer for 30 to 180 minutes. (A minimum of 30 minutes is required for basic tea, but traditional preparations often simmer for 2.5 to 3 hours to ensure maximum conversion to muscimol).

Strain: Strain the liquid through a cheesecloth, discarding all solid mushroom material. The remaining golden-amber liquid contains the active compounds.

Have fun?

Isn't a high heat decarboxylation all that's needed to make a. muscaria safe on the liver?
