I understand the contam rates would be higher though my questions the same if I did that would it increase likelihood of pinnage/fruits if I succeeded? :popcorn:

My current Jalisco grow is brf cake spawned to coir to increase fruiting surface, as only 2 cakes made it out alive :blush:

They are smaller than atl/tamps, probably why they aren't popular (toothpick for scale) Now i wonder if they would be bigger if i went grains

Anyone know why caps turn upside down? Could be temp fluctuation? 22-26˚c ,contam?

You have a light on a 12 hour cycle? Might help them to grow straighter. Or maybe they're needing more FAE.

Yea i have a 5w led from 7am to 7pm but during the day they get natural light on balcony

Here are the results I promised a week later
These trays pinned fruited and are ready to harvest within seven days.. the caps Seemed to be a little bit smaller than I would like them, 🤷🏻‍♂️

3 WEEKS TOTAL FROM GRAIN INOCULATION TO FRUIT




Since Halloween is coming up, I’m making a couple gifts for friends…. skulls full of mushrooms I hope they grow.

Is orangeing a normal thing for atl7 myc? Also this t2 looking pretty clean aside from I broke up agar abit n it spread around a little getting it off my makeshift scalpel

Yes yellow, orange, brown are normal especially from stones or when it starts to make stones on agar. Or with age.

I’ve had old ass plates that looked funky af that took right off and we’re still clean. That said I would grab some of that clean whispy growth that’s coming out to do a trasfer if possible.

I'ma hold off till tomorrow to do a transfer of the atl7 maby evin longer as theres not much to transfer from 😅 and if I'ma be digging around in there I might as well have enough myc to send to grains few times while I'm at it n still have some leftover :rockon:

All my plates were old and getting ugly. So I started a fresh germ of ATL7 and cleaned up the Pollock I let get baccy.

Are you getting a yellowing on the underside of the culture? It usually shows up when the myc is two weeks old and is only noticeable from bottom or when backlighting. Not sure if it’s normal sclerotia happenings or the dreaded biofilm fahtster has mentioned.

I have seen that before. Tamp plates can be tricky for me to eyeball. It gets pretty unique looking sometimes. 😆
