Um ….OK whatever you want to try but I use nothing but 100% coir pasteurized and this is my results I get it many many times over

Thanks 99.99. Inspiring.

I'll spawn to pasteurized pure coco and coco with 20% horse poo and report back here. First make some space in my lab and melt some holes in PP tubs. And find a good instant pot pasteurization protocol.

Just wanted to post the results of my latest test
Spawned 1 full agar plate to 2 cups sterilized wheat = fully colonized the whole bag in one week
9/07/26 to 9/13/26


Spawned 2 cups colonized wheat to 4 cups coir=
Fully colonized 09/07/26 to 09/13/26 cased with thin layer of pasteurized, Pete Moss,and producing pins



THIS IS INSANE BECAUSE YOU CAN GO FROM STARTING A CULTURE ON GRAIN TO BEING FULLY COLONIZED AND GETTING PINS WITHIN TWO WEEKS , THEN ONE WEEK TO HARVEST

So you can do the full culture, inoculation, and growth within three weeks.

I started tamp jars in April.

Got some nice fruits in July.


Cracked one open for stones and not a whole lot. :thumbdown:

I cut the smallest one in half and put it on agar, then ate the rest. :shrug:

3 days old today….. going to be a huge harvest should be ready Sunday probably

The planter was 1qt spawn.  I filled the bottom 1/3 with perlite.  I added whatever generic composted cow poo that Menards sells, right out of bag.  Also used coir, pretty sure only 1 quart... maybe 2... I layered the coir on the perlite and then mixed spawn and compost... thin layer layer of coir, more spawn and poo, thin layer of coir with grass seed on top.

It flushed 2 or 3 times before triching out.  I used a half ounce to make gel-caps.  Most tedious harvest ever lolzzz.

End result of 125 grams of stones and a smattering of fruits from my Holy Box. I even ended up with a hard won print to mess around with and see what I can coax out of the next generation.

Have some jars colonized and see some stones but I'm after fruits. Would top fruiting a BRF jar work with these?

If you’re after fruit, why don’t you just break up those jars in coir to fruit

You could dump the jars out harvest the stones take the leftover grain and spawn to bulk and it would produce mushrooms so that way you could have both

Well, it is possible if you only use smaller amount amounts of coir that it will colonize a lot faster and produce fruits sooner my tray colonized in a week and it’s only taken probably a week to reach maturity and pick

If I clone parts of the base of stems would that make the culture more viable to fruit/likely? If I did that multiple times

You don’t want to clone the base of the stem because there’s a lot higher risk of contamination you want underneath the cap right where it joins on

But I wouldn’t clone either of those places I’d like to use a old agar dish that has started to pin
That way, you can divide the little pins into pieces and they will colonize the plate

But you do need a big thick enough piece of mushroom to dissect material from and these normally don’t have much of anything to get a clean sample from
