Nah, u need a strop for that

And that's why I use stones ... If you sharpen only to the point of creating a bur it gets dull very fast, as you probably know all to well : )

You don't necessarily need the strop. Either.  You can use a super fine grit diamond plate as well or your hone in order to get rid of the burr.

Lol.  Man. I'm passionate about this stuff.  we went over it for like a week and a half straight when I was at le cordon Bleu. But one of my chef instructors always left an hour at the end of all of his classes all year long.  in order to help people with their knives.

You can, but it's not the same. Strop kinda hugs the edge and removes the burr more througjly.

I like the travel pill baggies for wedges and the 2cm grafting tape

I'm radically against the grain and I won't apologize for it

For me it depends on the knife I'll either finish it off with the good leather strop or I'll use a ultra fine grit diamond plate.

Sometimes depending on what they're going to be cutting. It can be good to have a little bit of the burr left on. But only a little bit. Acts like a serrated edge in a way.

But ultimately finishing up with the leather strop is the way to go.

I like the little pill pouch buggies from CVS or walgreens.  the perfect size and thickness.

Makes bending them open and holding them open while making transfers into them a lot easier in my opinion.

Ya im def interested in grafting tape when i finally run out of cling.

I never tear it though.  Huge part of my job for the last 20
Years is wrapping threaded fittings in teflan tape.  Im just really quick at it at thid point .

Guys, I have a question and I can't find a consensus on it...

Has anyone made mushroom honey with ground-up shrooms? Could you share your experience?

I have access to good honey and might prepare a few jars...

Hugs

People do that. It helps preserve the magic. You'll want to pull a vacuum on it to suck the air out of the powder and completely permeate the honey through the powder.

Some household vacuum sealers have a lil wand that comes off that you can use with special mason jar lids that have a one way valve on them for vac sealing jars at room temp. Alternately I'm wondering if you could hot water bath them with 2 piece lids to get heat and vacuum in the mix.

Not really as long as you leave some headspace to shake it before spawning :awesomenod:
