As one of the users who doesn't have a PC — I encourage you to try PF-Tek. There are also people preparing their own rice with good results.

But if you have the money to invest — buy yourself a PC that hits 15 PSI, a batch of good jars, lids, grain, petris, and allow yourself to do things properly.

It is exactly what I do, haven't been doing it long enough to know how well they hold up over time, but I think it's years.
