Part of me wants to go to Vegas and take 5g and walk the strip cause lights and shit.

But then I realize I’m not very social and don’t like clubs so not worth it. lol.

Ive done Vegas while cadyflipping.  Had a blast.  Blue man group was crazy.

I remember seeing avatar 3d in theathers on on christmas eve. While also on 2c-i.
That was really cool.

However when it comes to mushrooms. I can't do any of that shit. Mushrooms always come with the chance of that impending doom feeling. At least for me. Even if I start off okay it might not end up that way.

I have done a concert or two on mushrooms. But the concert was super chill at a bar where you could go up to the top balcony and hang out outside with a bunch of people. Even then I was feeling a little panicky and overwhelmed by the crowd.

I definitely had to make use of that upstairs balcony to take off a shirt let the breeze hit me dance a little bit and get out of my head. Then it was an okay night.

I still stand firm when it comes to mushrooms. They're not meant for the public  at least for me. And I'm the type of person that can be tripping my fucking balls off.
And also conversating with my parents and family without any of them having an idea. Ah while im feeling extremely comfortable.

If I'm at home so I can do this on mushrooms as well.

But yeah when it comes to the public.

Lsd and those types of psychedelics  only!  for me.

Raise the lid a bit with my free hand and scrape the wedge off the scalpel on the lip of the jar.

i confess that i'm terrible with small talk and I'd often rather die than go to these "grown-up" parties where the entire theme is dressing dumb and talking about shit that doesn't matter. Golf... I hate golf. Golf courses shouldn't exist in areas where they need to be irrigated.    I'll often deliberately make things awkward and uncomfortable by mutilating the ice into a fine pulp.

In general, when someone asks you a question that annoys or is an obvious attempt to make you feel small or less successful or accomplished, NEVER ANSWER IT with a statement. Always ask another question that ultimately makes them think about how privileged, boring, and trite they've been:

"whats the hungriest you've ever been? What is the longest you've gone without food or water?"
"when was the last time you pissed your own bed? (be honest)"
"what is the largest volume of blood you've ever lost in a short period?"
"when was the last time you truly felt crushing sympathy for a complete stranger?"
"what is the longest time you've ever spent in a coma? Who was the first loved one you saw when you awoke?"
"what is the largest percentage of you own personal funds you've ever donated to a charity or someone in need without telling anyone about it?"
"have you ever destroyed your own penis in dream?"
"have you ever been outside of your own body and seen it, colorless and and devoid of your ghost below?"

This might have belonged in the unbridled negativity thread but those aren't really my people and they don't ever really respond to the stuff I say anyway.  Not trying be a jerk and I'm aware that most of my friends haven't really experienced a lot of these things and that doesn't make them any less than me. Its just a knee-jerk defense mechanism I have when I have to go to these shitty company parties and board meetings.  Theres also pissbaby that has one too many and sees me and thinks "heres a guy I can be a dick to with impunity".

I dunno maybe its just me.
And why are these fuckers always disappointed when you don't play golf? Its like they're disgusted that I would do something so childish as play metal guitar or make art or garden or grow mushrooms or whatever like thats something that adults don't do. They give you this attitude like.. "huh... thats cute. You should try GOLF", like yeah, fucker, I'm sure my dick would surely grow an inch if I literally dedicated all my free time to chasing a little fucking ball around on stolen land.

I actually don't even do it the way I did in videos anymore.  I just don't make enough plates to be throwin that much agar anymore.
I count the number of jars i have to do: Lets say 10.

I cut my plate into ten bits and i put one wedge into each jar.  I don't hover shit over the jar or the plate. For sure the jars colonize slower but when you have a slow moving freight train of production, you really don't mind the additional colonization time.

I read that dude's tek and I thought "oh my god; just what i need is MORE steps in my process to make the whole thing even MOAR daunting and unfeasible to do while working a full-time job(s)

Ok, I see you all that and raise you one.

I confess that I'm finally giving myself permission to think a thought that I always thought must surely be wrong: a lot of apparently successful and wealthy people are dumb as rocks and poorly educated. Doesn't matter what degrees they have. Doesn't matter what their government clearance level is. Doesn't matter how much money they make. Just simply not-smart, and don't really know shit. They obviously have some inherited livelihood strategies that work out for them in this perverse late-capitalist landscape, but that doesn't mean they even know what they're actually doing.

And THAT is what rubs me the wrong way about small talk at a lot of different events. "Oh, I see, you just wanted to blurt something out that you heard on NPR. Further conversation on the matter makes you uncomfortable."

You mentioned golf courses, and JFC. Anything landscape-related is the worst. I think I might give up on actually trying to explain plant ecology and soil science to people, and just switch to "Oh, you didn't hear? Yeah, milkweed berms are the next big thing. I saw a bunch driving around <insert name of douchey old money neighborhood here>"

I confess that I'll always be mystified by a phenomenon that this most recent interloper actually fully embodies.

There's apparently no shame in starting a thread when someone has a question. Sometimes they'll say "I tried to look for an answer, but it was confusing." Sometimes they'll say "this is a unique situation." Sometimes they won't bother with any of that, and just bang out a thread-starter with no hesitation.

To be clear, I don't care. Anyone with an e-mail address has the ability and the right to start a thread as they see fit.

But then here's the thing: more often than not, when someone's got a brilliant new technique or a point they want to argue till they're blue in the face, they'll just turn up in whatever thread seems active or tangentially related and throw up a flag. Even after several rounds of "you should start a thread....yeah, you know what, I' GONNA," they never seem to get around to it.

It's truly bizarre to me. Even the most basic questions posed in a new thread will generate considerable interest and replies. New techniques and controversial takes almost certainly would do the same. Not to mention, then the thread shows up in that poster's "main threads" on their profile.

I was getting ready to comment on this phenomenon and went to check ufc's post history. Turns out they actually did BOTH: started a bunch of threads asking questions back in 2020, then turned up now to spam random threads.

Me too, finally got a patch started in the yard.

But I'm realizing that an in-depth discussion of the precarious fate of migrating monarchs and their fascinating survival strategies, combined with a rant about runoff from managed landscapes and the need for both rainwater catchment strategies and diverse native landscaping that doesn't just let wind and water blow right through it, will just be met with deer-in-headlights blank stares.

So it's gotta be "lawns are so mid-20th-century. Trust me, bro. You want to be ahead of the Joneses? Milkweed berms all the way."

My confession is that I think PF tek is outdated, and beginners can learn just as easy using modern bulk techniques.

Bulk growing has been streamlined to the point where it's actually easier and more likely to succeed in my opinion, then PF tek. Back in the day that wasn't the case when people were making all kinds of crazy tubs and terrariums to grow their mushrooms in, but now with the unmodified tub method it really doesn't get any easier. There's only one less step and that step is mixing grain into your coir verm mix.

I did start with PF tek because that's what everybody told me but this was all the way back in 2011. People like Bod, have seriously simplified the process for growing cubensis.
