Yeah they are super photogenic mushrooms. Even when the gutattion is less visible.  Plus excellent dry weight and size for the section.

Also one of my two current favorites as far as alkaloid profile. Very balanced. And I like the other one because I find it good for deep introspection (the coleville bisporus).

Thanks ♥️  They are such a photogenic mushroom they make it easy and fun to take photos.

As to your question I doubt the gutattion is active.  Because it's mostly water and they would degrade quickly.

However, one of the adaptations gutattion often provides fungi is antimicrobial compounds.  This species was collected in India, growing in dense and moist leaf litter.

Cultivated it seems highly resistant to bacterial blotch.  And I cloned exterior tissue to malt extract agar.  Aside from satellite bacterial colonies, which the mycelium overran, the growth was surprisingly healthy (I generally clone Copelandia to water agar, due to bacteria issues).

This was an earlier photo, usually I would have bacteria all around that tissue.



And this was later on, it grew over it.



But because I did want to save this clone I actually pulled the transfer from a water agar plate to be safe.

TLDR:  I think it's antibiotic.
