So I threw a lot of different spores in cior outdoors And now have this blobby guy. My question is, is this something active I introduced or something natural?

Kind of too shitty of a picture to tell much. None of the important identifying characteristics are visible

I know. I can't get a better pic tho. It has no gills/viel and is just a big blob. It doesn't look like anything from this list of local naturals so I'm thinking it's a PE blob. This is one I cut  also .

Not any active species.

Adding spores to heavily salinated beach sand, shells, and coir, and getting those mush to grow would be less likely than winning the lottery.

How do you guys reuse your filter disks? What I mean is: what do you attach them to in order to preserve the adhesive? Is there anything I can do to make removing them less likely to delaminate the adhesive?

sticker patches aren't reusable like that.

Could be a lot of things, but no blue bruising on those diced up bits would scare me a lot.

Call me a coward, but I wouldn't eat anything that I was not super certain about. The effects of some of the toxic mushrooms sound pretty gruesome and there has been a spate of mushroom poisonings from misidentification on the west coast of the US lately.

The identification forum would be the better place to ask. I don't have any skill in that area. It may be impossible to tell from a single sample in the form of a blob. Since you were adding non-local materials it could be something foreign or native, further complicating the identification.

I am no expert. But it might require genetic analysis to be positive since there are no spores, gills or other identifying features in the sample. I wish I could be more help.

Best I can offer is don't eat it.

Who rlly knows at this point xd outdoors is full of the unknown. I've seen indoor grows of cubes of 3 or 4 different types of cubes blob out like that

And I have also encountered a bacteria that caused blobbing like that in cubes interesting fact. Those blobs did not blue up so who knows

Amy ideas on how to check potency or psilocybe compounds?

I've seen some insane fungus in the wild lol had flashback just now of walking through the woods n finding 2 mushrooms with my sister when we was young lol those mushrooms had double rainbows on them literally no idea what they where n before i had a phone so no pics sadly. natures amazing lol

A wild mushroom pin you didn't let grow big enough to identify with macrofeatures.

Oh man how I wish we I had handy access to cameras back when. So many lost memories.

... Also, Man am I glad that we didn't have access to cameras back then. So many embarrassing memories lost.

It could be literally millions of different things. It is truly Schrodinger's mushroom at this point. If you want to learn to ID mushrooms, you need to read a lot about identification of mushrooms. Field guides for your area are a good start. AI answers are always partially or totally wrong, and getting it wrong can kill you or worse.

Typically a combination of features like spore color, spore shape, gills, pores, colors of different tissues, tissue arrangements and textures, bruising behavior, environment, substrates, seasons, nearby trees and plants, etc are all used to narrow it down.

An amorphous blob of any kind is very hard to identify. As it reaches maturity you see gills or pores, spore colors, and growth patterns.

Learn to identify the toxic ones first. Knowing what something isn't is easier than knowing what something is. Knowing what will kill or harm you is the more important than knowing a few you can eat.

Nobody can tell you what that one is and anyone who tries is a dumbass. It isn't a psilocybe or panaeolus.

Id also like to point out that our big wide world won't very researched or documented. There's more unknown fungi that exist in the wild than known I think πŸ€” that's why I like mycology so much  I love the unknown lol

Been out of the game for a bit, are we still shaking grains during colonization to speed things up?

One of this biggest things I learned when getting into mushroom identification was..

-Don’t try and find the characteristics that prove what you think it is, but to look for the characteristics that disprove what you think it is.

The mind has a way convincing oneself about things especially when one is excited or expectant. (Case and point, you thinking it was a PE blob)
As mentioned before mushroom identification is a very complex and meticulous task and if you don’t go about it correctly you can reaalllly get yourself into trouble.

Does it count differently if you shake it hard and fast? Or gentle and slow..
