I ll certainly sound dumb but I want to be sure:

If i reach the top of the B of the Ball from the jar with spawn (quart jar), then if I want 1:3 ratio I should reach x3 times the B of the jar with coir?

I know the question is dumb and the answer seems like yes, but at least i ll be sure

Also Kloakk yea damn those freaking muricans and their measurement units

I think when people speak about S2B β€œratios” here, I think they generally mean myco quarts of spawn vs fully filled (but uncompressed) jars or hydrated coir. Very confusing, but it’s hard to change a convention I guess

I fill a quart jar to the brim with coir, giving it a shake in between scoops without compressing (that step is left for when it's all in the tub with the spawn).

That said, considering the wide range of ratios used for spawning (1:2 to 1:6 seems most common depending on the size of the tub and whether bacteria may be present) it's not really an exact science. Aside from the above factors: consider whether you want faster colonizing times in the short term, or less moisture maintenance in the long term.

Does that look okay? The dark spot was caused by water dripping from the lid. But something is now changing on the far right in the middle. Is that okay? Or did I catch a conti? It's my first shoe boxπŸ˜‡. Box is now 16 days old. Stands at 21 c. Thanks for your help.

Ps. With my second shoe box I didn't have the problem with the water droplets. It is also pure white and looks more homogeneous.

No. Regular grain to coir.
Just measured 26g dried. Barely fits into my supplement jars. Gotta get a mortar

When my bird was looking at my computer monitor, I thought, "that bird has no idea what he's looking at." And yet, what does the bird do? Does he panic? No, he can't really panic, he just does the best he can... You’re that bird looking at the monitor, and you’re thinking to yourself, β€˜I can figure this out.’ Maybe you have some bird ideas. Maybe that’s the best you can do.

I already suspected it. Thank you for your answer! My plan was if I should get fruit. To clone. That doesn't make sense now, does it?

I've taken clones from a contaminated tub with luck.

I'm on page with Kloakk doing 600ml spawn, but have been going 1:3 as I use 500ml water to get my coir hydrated; gonna switch to 1:4 as it works out to really round numbers of 150g coir to 600ml water to get 2.4l sub, plus the spawn, 3l !! And that's everything actually measured volumetric and all, no myco-quart stuff.

Yea from what i ve understood from some research it seems :

1 myco quart = 600/700ml spawn
1 quart coir = 1 full quart jar

Tbh if only muricans could adopt the freaking metric system

While I do wear an onion on my belt and was raised on freedom units, my industry is all metric and I do love it. However, base 12 does make for better fractions.

Did I make truffles?  This was an experiment jar 50/50 popcorn and cvg. Ziplock Tek.  Was waiting for pins and noticed these blobs.

Soaking some wbs for like 17.5 hours tonight into tmrw, my schedule is extremely busy and this is the only time I can do it. Last attempt did not go that great, but I got a few good jars I’m going to g2g with.

The last round was clearly soaked too much and not dried enough which lead to contam. My idea now is to spread grains on a large piece of cardboard with a box fan blowing over it. For about 12 hours because that’s when I’ll be back from work.

Will this work? Also, can I reuse jars that have bad grains from the previous attempt in them, thoroughly washed?

So I'm wanting to get back into the game after probably a 14 year hiatus since I last grew anything.

I look around now and all I see are tubs full of white mutant blobs and what not.

Is anyone growing good old GT's or B+ anymore?

I'm guessing that these albino freakazoid strains are stronger, but are they also producing more weight per grow or something? They look like they would be difficult to gauge when to harvest. Not like a nice full canopy of 4 inch cubes.

Back in those days I guess the people were experimenting growing stock standard Penis Envy and that was probably considered the exotic grow. All the strains these days are crazy πŸ˜‚

I feel the same way. I used up and lost all my gt genetics. you could always try the site sponsored vendors to get some but everyone here is interested in other stuff now, which is still cooler than hell

I've been cloning to get skinny short fruits. The stuff I'm messing with is potent as hell, and I want it to fit a shoebox and dry in 12h! They're getting shorter, and still potent so far
