Hell yeah buddy!:rockon::mushroom2: looks great.

Pic tax:

Got enough oysters of these Kramer cakes to make an omelette:crazy2: they'll do better next flush when I don't forget to turn the humidifier back on after cleaning :hehehe:

Loving the fact that I can stack buckets around the Swiss cheese fruiting chamber, and they'll continue flushing. Feeling like a proud papa of this odd device

Had some trich (bruised mycelium?) showing on the exterior cardboard. Chucked this guy in a trash bag and threw it outside. Spilled some rye grass seed by accident, whatever, threw out some contammed petris for seasoning.
Basically it dried out, then was too wet, and now it pins on the basement floor at 65* lol I’m sure there’s tons of bacteria in there, but didn’t see any trich.

Does the grass count as a pseudo casing?

Also this box fruited about a week behind the cared for boxes.

Meh. 🍄

I learned this method from the OG cultivator, mother earth.  But I picked up a term I like for it off YouTube, 'live casing'.

Old pic tax, my first live casing experiment.

Hoping for some more luck this time around with the Ochras in the shoeboxes. I'm trying a much dryer sub than last time and I built an ez dial for my semp experiment (1:10 coir in a 47qt tub spawned 2 days ago). I've had really good results with unmoddeds before but I guess it's time to try something new and see how that works for me.

Some big Transkei pins on cakes in a shoebox water tub. The center cake is Rustywhyte, which hasn't pinned yet.

Some x7x+ cakes, lots of overlay but no pins yet.

A hispanica shoebox fruiting, albeit almost entirely side pins. This shoebox had only a pint of spawn mixed with a quart of coir, then another pint of coir on top (maybe a bit too much). I was originally going to do two pints, but the other was colonizing slowly, and I decided to spawn to bulk while my basement was still cooler. We had a few mid-spring temperature drops and one of them seems to have triggered pinning. They're almost all side pins, but now there's a few popping out of the top as well. Some of them at the front look nearly mature enough to drop spores. Those have been getting more FAE, from the unlatched lid.

A lazy attempt at culture selection. I have several of these quarter-pint (4 oz) pp5 mini-twist food containers because I previously used them for pre-pour agar. Now I'm putting a tablespoon or two of brown rice in them, PC, and then inoc with one or more agar wedges. About a month later the Transkei ones all had pins (without loosing the lids for GE), so I cloned those, then put the soaked and wrapped cakes in a shoebox water tub and made a bunch of prints. I'm doing the same thing now with a couple wild cubes ("Minami Okinawa" is one of them, left column), the stacks are arranged by how quickly they colonized. Behind them are some more I started yesterday, with PESH (visible) and a couple pan varieties (india, cyan "nightcap", cambo). It'll be great to know if I can get clones of pan strains that will fruit under these circumstances, and worst case I'm out 2/3 of a cup of brown rice while I'm also trying other approaches.
