I used to be a chef.  In French culinary.

We have "mise en place".

Mise en place is a French culinary term meaning "everything in its place" and refers to the practice of preparing and organizing all ingredients and tools before cooking. This includes tasks like chopping vegetables, measuring spices, and gathering equipment, which makes the cooking process more efficient, organized, and less stressful.

So even just getting the tools and utensils equipment.  Buckets etc out needed to perform your procedure counts as prep.

I know it's extremely technical. That's just where my head was at

In your case cron the coir.

I would call the prep getting the bucket out and measuring the water.


I imagine you don't measure your coir anymore since you got those big ass bags but I could be wrong..

I confess, I need to get something off my chest. Probably because I'm tripping.

Anyone else remember a specific thing that happened in your life that changed everything for you? I do. It's not going to be a pleasant story. You've been warned.

My mom was what most people would call a "tiger mom." She wanted me to be a surgeon, but also, I wasn't good enough or smart enough to be anything. I think she developed schizophrenia when I was 12, but didn't realize she was crazy until I was 13. I can't even begin to tell you how living with someone like that was.

My dad tried to help her, but she wouldn't take her meds. He was never home because he was the sole provider, so he couldn't be there to make sure she was taking her meds. It got to the point where he couldn't take it anymore, so he left.

I'm 13 yrs old, a freshman in high school. He said he wouldn't take us from our mother, so he left us his number and new address and said, "When it gets too bad, call me and I'll come get you." I dealt with it until I couldn't anymore,  so I finally called him.

I wish I could erase this moment from my memory, but I can't. The next morning, my mom dropped me off to school as usual. She turned around and said, "When you get home, I'll give you each $200 so you can buy each other Christmas gifts." It was weird because it was almost like she wasn't crazy for once. I wanted to hug her like it was the last time I was going to see her, but if I did, she would know something was up. So I said, "Ok, bye." and jumped out of the car.

I couldn't even feel free. I was so upset and felt so guilty by that moment, and was also just mourning losing her. Six months later, my dad passed away.

I was able to avoid the system because, technically, one parent still existed. But that also meant that I had to figure out how to fend for myself.

Fast forward. I'm 15 years old and I'm hungry. I'd been drinking water to make myself feel full, but I couldn't do that anymore. So I walk into a Walmart and think, "What can I get to eat that will fill me up and I can't still make even if I don't have all the ingredients. Mac n cheese."

So I walk to the mac n cheese aisle, and as I'm trying to decide which flavor I want, I just happen to glance at the price. 44 cents. That was the moment. My life is so fucking worthless and low that I'm about to steal something that's 44 cents. I stole it, but also promised myself I would never, ever get to that point again.

A box of 44 cent mac n cheese is what changed a 15 year old's life. Ain't that some shit.

The Mother Wound. It cuts us to the depths of our souls. I too grew up under the rule of a mother with sky-high expectations. Never measured up. Still don't. I struggle with loving myself, being impressed by my accomplishments, even looking myself in the eye when my own mother refuses to do so.

I feel for you. It must be all the more complicated that she isn't physically here anymore. I honestly feel like I'll be more upset when my mother dies because I never got the chance to gain her approval than because I'll miss her.

Also, 44 cents? From a dude who owns a yacht? Girl, please. Fuck them richies. You were hungry.

im starting to suspect my mother had some underlying mental illness. she was convinced i huffed gasoline because she literally just saw some 'panic' reporting on the news and just completely ignored reality. weird because she was a smart lady and wasnt a fool:rolleyes:

also tries to kick me out of the house for having a tattoo(i was 19) but buys me an all american PC for xmas the following year knowing what im using it for :confused:
