Thats the main reason why oats suck is they just look like that and unless you have a fuckton of experience with them theres not really a good way to visually tell if its bacterial or not

Im running oats in my bags rn because theyre cheap but i can smell and inspect them as I spawn.  My master jars im using wheat because i need to be 100% about anything im expanding

I've always used oats and I think I can tell you how I know those jars are bad.

I rinse my oats many times before simmering. This makes pale, light colored grains. When grains turn dark inside your jar and don't colonize easy, you have an issue.

APEU culture fruiting after being revived from a 3+ year old cryovial.

I stored the culture in a vial in 2022 and revived it directly to grain prior to fruiting it.

I was recently gifted a wedge of chestnuts and blue oyster from a friend.
Need to get them going on a new plate.

Gave my first go at g2g this week. Colonizes fresh grain so fast! I'm a believer! Master jars a plenty in my future!

Had some spawn left in the "master jar". I had one cup so added two cups of hydrated coir and booped it into this container. Guaranteed to be a cleaner grow than other leading brands.
