Hey mush fam!

Any chance to get some fruits from bacterial bulk spawn?

Best of luck to you all!

Sure, but it depends on how severe the contamination is. Look at this shit(picture below), now this is the third flush, but I knew something was up when I sent it, the thing is that I have been trying to clean that culture(Iceberg) for over 6 months, believe me when I say I've tried everything.

Nothing would get it 100% clean, but when I saw that it was pretty decent I sent it in hopes of getting a couple of fruits to print, this culture was gifted to me as a agar wedge and I knew after a couple of transfers that I need to get back to spores with this one, worked out though

To all y'all big players, yes I took prints long before the green turned up

What a nice answer again from Kloakk!

Thank you!

I just spawned to bulk and wasnt sure that the rice was bacterial, but after few days when the boxes was colonized , ill put them to fruiting and some sour smell came from
boxes but no visible mold or something, but lets see what comes out.

So I could already tell in the jars that it was bacterial, but just slightly, so instead of trying to fruit out the jar I sent it with a 1:2 ratio. The real signs came after I sent it(I go to fruiting when I spawn, with cubes, ochra and semperviva).

First sign was that it was colonizing the substrate slower then usual, second it started to smell off, it didn't smell sour at all, but not that fresh mushroom smell it's supposed to either. Third sign was when it started to fruit before it colonized the whole substrate.

I just let it ride and got my prints, then just watched them closely, as soon as I saw trich it was out of the grow room, so yeah just let it ride and watch them :strokebeard:

I would give it a couple more bottom Waters or. even dunk it for an hour maybe( if you harvested everything). If  you're going to bottom water it to re hydrate. keep putting a little bit in and let it soak it up until it stops soaking it up and then dump it out. If your mono is kind of big this might be the easier option. Cuz then you don't have to worry about dumping the water out and your sub breaking in half or falling out in the process.

I will try that. I didn't harvest fully, but the ones I left behind because the veils haven't torn yet have mostly now torn, so I'll finish harvesting this flush tomorrow (probably mostly scraping the pins and microfruit into the garbage disposal) and give it another soak.

Thanks for the feedback, really appreciate the time.

Works great for shoeboxes.  I imagine you could also do it with a mono. I've never done a mono. So I wouldn't know.

I mean I know it's possible probably just a little bit more of a pain in the ass to deal with a bigger tub

This is a great tek. I recently did it on 3 totes (2 32s and a 16) after a 2nd flush, that were kind spent, spore covered and had bottom pins and shrooms. Pulled the shrooms off the bottom, punished all 6 sides with my sink sprayer, soaked them for a few hours, drained the leftover water and got mush moar shroomies a few days later! It works!

Did you get them from the european amazon or the US one?
I'm debating whether to go with weck jars which have plastic lids (or glass but good luck drilling those) or splurging on ball mason jars, but have trouble finding em in europe.

Used the US amazon, I'm in Europe though, took 3 weeks to arrive. I did order Ball wide mouth jars(found a store with free shipping if you spend $49) at the same time, but I was lucky and found out that a local store had jars that my wide mouth plastic lids fits perfect so might not need to order more jars from US.

If you get the same lids as me you can get free shipping on those too as long as you buy over $49. Here's a link.

I can only speak for myself, but I think plastic lids is the shit, I do not want rust in my Presto PC, I got lucky when I bought the PC, but still, importing it is expensive as fuck and so I do everything I can to make it last as long as possible.

Yes. Hyphal knots soon turning to primordia.

Check out How it should & shouldn't look - NEW CULTIVATORS GUIDE

The first section is on mycelium Second subsection in that section is pics of hyphal and primordia.

this Thread is a very good read.

I recommend everybody give it a good read through if you haven't already.

I've seen plenty of examples of people slicing Cubensis that are solid all the way through and needed to be cut to be dried all the way.

Hollow stipes is not normal.

I think you're mistaken here.  hollow stipes are literally one of the characteristics you're supposed to look for when wild foraging.

there are specifically bred varieties of cubensis that have a functionally solid stipe through breeding but the structure supporting the hollow is still present.

Oh yeah, I've already followed that process on a prior grow that unfortunately did not go well (trich right after), but I don't think it was because of the punishment. I didn't want to do that here because 1/3 of the sub was still actively growing. Though honestly, given how tiny the fruits are turning out for this first flush I probably should have pulled them and done it anyhow!

Meanwhile I bottom-watered, let it soak for ~4 hours, dumped out what little hadn't soaked in, and heavily misted the top. Hopefully will see some action tonight after work. Fingers crossed!

Lol. I feel ya.  Lots of us use that punishment tek tho with great success. So def probaly just a fluke or your sub was already spent.

Any ways you'll have to give it at least a couple days to start to recover and restart colonization and go thru the normal cycle till it fuits again.

The fruits that you left behind will certainly keep growing in the short term.  I’ve noticed a few days of apparent inactivity after punishing a sub and removing the aborts and such. Then, it starts pinning again, but it seems to be recovering for some time before that.
