I would start with ditching vendor plates and making your own.

Id probably even make No pours

No they arent.

Different clones but same batch.

Few plates wrapped shitty also but some plates look fine with clone tissue also and no larvae there.

I dont want to blame vendor and i think i took maybe clone sample with those insects.

I ve seen it with my other plates , there are like black mold spots on the plates after transfer and larvae comes from those spots, like a nest or smth.

Anybody have experience with these microppose disposable petris?




Are they decent quality?


I normally go for celltreat or viabooth.


But...

The microppose ones are the same price for more than twice as many. So if they are still decent quality. It would seem like a no-brainer. if Anyone knows anything about them, please let me know.

All regular plates have vented lids right? I buy my plates from the local lab supplier and I pay the same, even if I just buy 1 pack(10 plates).

how long do you guys typically set agar plates aside either taped or bagged to wait for the appearance of any inherent contamination?  I need to figure out whether I'm wasting a week or not.

I only do this after I set up my ffu with new filter, after that I trust the process, but I'd wait a week if I question it

I start using plates right away but i typically make enough to last me a month or two at a time. So as they sit i might have a few get a little funky. But the vast majority stay clean and work just fine.

I'd say you're porbably wasting a week.

Now if you still want to incorporate waiting a week without feeling like you're wasting it... prepare more plates a week or two before you're gonna need them. So then they sit while you finish with your last round of plates.

There's so many approches.
