Yep this seems to check out. I used to be a thunder junkie doing all opioids, benzos and CS drugs I could possibly do (I did Xanax and clonazepam almost ever day for at least 5 years with a normal dose of 5-15mg, sometimes more due to the tolerance) and the times I've tried shrooms back then I've said "this shit is absolutely useless" since I didn't feel any effect and definitely didn't trip even though I ate a lot of semilancetas, closer to 5g one time and had no effect whilst some of my friends could trip balls on a much lower dose.

Now when I'm clean from other drugs and meds I still have a heigtened tolerance on shrooms but I can definitely trip, it just takes a lot to do so but I'm glad I can do it because shrooms was what finally made me lose the urges for heavier shit for real.

I have an old SAB that worked well years ago but it's been left in a humid, spider filled shed, do I just make a new one or just give the old one a strong bleaching and a good clean?

Just washing it out with soap and water is probably fine. You could go overboard if you wanted to though and that would be fine too

We talk a lot about ssri and snri prescriptions dulling the effects of psychs, but benzos often get overlooked. They definitely reduce the effectiveness of psychedelics and even more so in combination with serotonin inhibitors.

I have a mate that reduces his Klonopin intake in preparation for big trips and still has a massive tolerance to all mushrooms that are knocking the rest of us on our asses. He takes 3 times what we do for a similar level of experience and the effects still wear off faster for him. He does get the benefits of the trip, but it takes him a lot more to get there.

I still recommend caution in figuring out your dose. Just confirming what others have said already.

My journey into this is for medicinal/mental health reasons. Opiates are my doc. I'm off of them now, but I just got off MAT not too long ago. I have trouble with depression so I'm hoping that shrooms will help me with that.

By taking shrooms I'm not trying to leave the planet, I just want to put some happy in my life. I should be happy. In a material/ basic needs sense, I have everything I need and then some.

possible but highly unlikely.  people majorly underestimate how much an ssri can inhibit a trip.  ive also had quite a bit of experience with a benzo--particularly clonezepam aka klonopin which has a very long halflife--inhibiting psychs to almost nothing, if not completely turning it off.

eating shrooms on a full stomach can also really slow down the ingestion but usually thats more of a delayed response.


Also, if you are taking any of the GLP-1 (ozempic, zepbound, etc) the gastric slowing they initiate can impact effectiveness.

Imo that's a very good reason to use shrooms and I truly hope they help you kick the benzos because life is so much better without them when you manage to quit. I understand that your reason is different than mine and I hope you succeed on your mushroom journey mate.

Mushrooms alone are sooooo much better than any benzo or opioid:naughty:

Any reason why my clone is growing so light? Shouldn’t the mycelium be thicker and whiter? My original plate where I took this from was white and thick.

Is there not enough nutrients or something in the agar I made? I only used agar powder and nothing else.

Clonazepam goes if shrooms make up for it.

Agar powder only is what we commonly call "water agar". It is great for helping eliminate bacteria, but does lead to thin fast moving mycelium. Nothing to worry about. If it is healthy, it will thicken back up when it gets a hold of something more nutritious like lme agar or grains.

Shook my spore syringe by hand, had three clumps in it. Put a drop on some agar plates and nothing grew so far (two weeks and a week ago). No growth, thought I would break up the clumps using a air pump from an aquarium with the syringe on it. Looked at it after ten minutes and noticed this floating in the syringe. Sorry for the poor pictures, my camera does not have a macro setting.

At first I only saw the white wispy stuff floating around and only in the second picture I noticed the black specks. Wondering what more knowledgeable voices here have to say about it?

Hi,

How many plates can you do with 1 normal print ?

Also, for a total newbie, is it possible to 100% fuck up the print and grow nothing from it for a first time ?

If you only have 1 print and you can t have another one before a long time, would you just stick with brf for a first time and try agar later ? Or jump to agar first try ?

also its pretty hard to fuck a print up. if it prints, it germs.  i dont typically streak more than one plate. 

just streak a plate and go from there.  no reason it wont work..

Fuck. Most I’ve done is 7g and that literally sent me into the funhouse at the carnival, but never left my kitchen. I can’t even think of doing 14g. 🤯🤪
