In terms of congress it is currently 215-218. There are two open seats. Matt Gaetz and Stephanik from NY. That’s close enough that random events could throw the house to democrats before the midterms and very likely democrats win the house back in 2026

Of course this is why they are not going to prosecute Rep Mills for assault because that would likely end with another open seat

Any future president will rely on the Trump playbook. Politics will remain nasty and just short of calling for violence against people for the foreseeable future.

I think it's a bit too late for the follower effect to kick in for Luigi. If there was another Luigi before the inauguration, then we'd probably see a sudden rash of Luigis and immediate changes to society.

Another major airline incident

A Southwest plane had to abort landing at the last second after a commuter/private jet crossed the runway just a few hundred feet in front of it in Chicago. Not sure how often incursions like this happen but certainly the worst one I’ve ever seen captured on video. Wow

Luigi Mangione has issued a message from prison in regards to the photographs he's being sent by fans.

Mangione is accused of murdering UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson in December 2024, and has since generated quite the fanbase.

Hundreds of his supporters attended his first court hearing since his arraignment on Friday (February 21), with the majority being young women, People reports.

They were seen lining up outside the New York City court early in the morning to gain access, many sporting placards.

With all this in mind, his legal team has had to set up a website for the 26-year-old, where an FAQ page has been created.

Mangione — who has pleaded not guilty to the charges he's facing – is also able to issue statements via the site, and one thanked people for their ongoing support.

"I am overwhelmed by - and grateful for - everyone who has written me to share their stories and express their support.

"Powerfully, this support has transcended political, racial, and even class divisions, as mail has flooded MDC from across the country, and around the globe.

"While it is impossible for me to reply to most letters, please know that I read every one that I receive. Thank you again to everyone who took the time to write. I look forward to hearing more in the future."
