Pretty sure baba uses fresh manure for his tea tek but I can’t remember the exact process for fresh, I’m pretty sure if you briefly soak in water a couple times you could potentially rinse most of the nasties out, I haven’t tried though, I just dumped mine in the sun for a couple days after my latest fresh hpoo fuck ups.

I use non leached manure but it's not fresh. I let it sit in a bucket with cloth attached over the top or a bag that can breath and let it sit til the ammonia smell is gone. Texture wise it's a bit muddier than leached but that can usually get adjusted when mixing it with coir and verm (optional). I wished I could get straw pellets or something similar, maybe I'll try to use fermented pine sawdust as I'd like to get away from coir, verm and also peat which is why I am experimenting with uncased subs.

Hope to get more back into it next year and will make new tub designs get better results when fruiting pans at spawn without casing. Aiming to allow for more evenly distributed FAE than the oldschool monos I am using at the moment.

Nah, I still get the most mileage out of one to two inch substrates.

And I run my casing damp but not saturated.  A lot darker than what baba just posted. But no standing water as you still want evaporation as well as some air exchange (you don't want to drown them).

My bispo casings typically look like this.



And this is mystery sa, but I do both similarly as far as keeping the caps dripping (within reason, it's not going to kill anything if you were gone for a day and can't mist them. But they do both seem to produce more spores and develop larger caps if I do that.  And you don't want to overspray and saturate the casing either).
