They can't. We subsidize Canada for hundreds of billions of dollars. Their independence is a lie and they are terrified of America deciding to play fairly by saying, "It's now tit for tat." Trump knows this. Justin knows this.

Canada will be assimilated into the United States before the end of Trump's term. Trump has all the leverage to make it happen.

What exactly is Canada going to do? Fall into economic ruin?

This isn't Trump being a bastard, it's him saying we've been enabling Canada for far too long and they either have to learn to take care of themselves without $100-$200 billion being sent from America every year to prop them up, or they're going to have to join the USA to justify such a ridiculous amount of assistance. It's purely common sense.

Take your pick. What do you think they will decide to do once the reality of their situation becomes apparent to its citizens?

The alternative is, inevitably, Canada loses hundreds of billions of dollars. When I say "subsidized" (for simplicity) really I'm talking about the fact that Canada is allowed to import goods here, but we hardly sell anything there. It's not equal. Canada relies on our one-sided GENEROSITY to even exist. It's like a child who wants to live abroad but asks mom to pay his rent every month still because he can't afford it.

Canada is gonna have to make a choice, because we don't need them, but they have leaned on US for decades. That's no longer going to happen, one way or another.

There is a lot of American goods sold in Canada btw. Half my groceries and a lot of my construction materials. Pretty sure we hook you guys up with trees, electricity and oil too.
