Me either just links to old threads lol, as we've always said I see no advantage to ever worry about it  when the real goal should be clean growth with a wide genetic spread to select clones in real time.
It could be a fun thread of bumping heads n discussion though:rofl:

So today my first ever PE from-a-jar will be harvested. Next to that, I just found my first ever Pioppino-from-a-jar! I'm doing the ever-so-week clean up, and found this jar that was accidentally LITFA, and apparently got fruits. Not as many as the PIPs in shoeboxes and grow bags, but at least AGAIN a harvest from a jar. The 'speed' of this jar grows are not saftisfactory to me by the way. It is yet far from perfect. Lots of learning going on the last weeks.

My first PIP-from-a-jar:

I'm declaring it dead.

It's either bullshit, or has very little benefit, or may even be counterproductive. Genetic variation may be better than chasing a monoculture. And it may be impossible, Bod says the a monoculture is two spores joining.

Bod said he wouldn't bother with it, and he's one of the gold standard of info here.

The tek on transferring that's linked by lots of people here is an old one by Stro, that has a section on fiddling with sectors. Even though he says "it's not that important", he dedicates time to it, so a lot of new growers got hung up on it and waste time chasing that ghost. I've talked to a half-dozen in the past few months.

I'm already writing a 2025 transfer tek with SmellyHobbit.

Here's the thread where verum went up to T80 of trying to isolate sectors and it kept sectoring:

https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/24741888#24741888

He includes this near the end:
"Seems to me that the farther isolated i get the less rhizo the culture is.

"It also seems that the apparently isolated transfers grow more slowly than the ones with genetics still fighting for nutrients."

Even when visible "sectors" are eliminated, microscopic ones persist. You cannot reduce any given plate to a single strain isolate via macroscopic plate transers, regardless of iteration.

Doing 80 plates wouldn't hurt a culture there really isn't much expansion there.

I've referred to that as 'the dance' in my past strain crossing ramblings. You can remove 99.9% of the people from a mosh pit and you'll still find several smashed on the floor.

serial dillution seems insane too.  like how would one even know what they are going to get? like playing the lotto.

i actually learned a lot from talking to hob about it and i do what hob does.  he has a rather barbaric way of looking at things.

streak. take some big wedges. run em.  clone.  look clean? run em.  rinse and repeat.

barbarian but ever since i started doing things like hob, i enjoy this hobby a LOT more and i never waste plates!

Fourth flush of X7X+ from these tubs. I'm seeing some very different fruit profiles than the first 3 flushes for sure. Think i should try cloning or printing these shorter fat fruits?
