To have air exchange during colonization isn't really something to wory about.
Stamets actually recomends elevated co2 (5000-10,000ppm) during spawn run & post casing\pre pinning
All I have are inverted lids and no probs colonizing.

That is common sense, all you are trying to do is recreated an outdoor environment....All things equal colonization is a bit faster with air exchange....

thats correct; an ELEVATED amount of CO2 helps colonization. peoples problems here lie when they seal up the jar totally and the O2 inside the jars is 100% used up and is all converted to CO2; thats why peoples jars halt. air exchange is imortant in our case because there is not enough oxygen in teh jars from teh start to accommodate the full colonization of the substrate. but peoples jars halt because the CO2 levels do exceed the maximum recommended 10,000ppm by far.
conclusion is: 'increased levels of CO2' does not mean '100% CO2' just means higher than nominal atmospheric air does.
