This was from one of the early black cap prints. Everything that has grown from them has had the super dark caps.
So I cloned the mutant. The tub took seven weeks to knot up and had a pretty good distribution of knots. Only five of those are maturing though and they look like normal, kind of stunted, mushrooms.  The tub is nice and clean so we'll see what happens.
Here is one of the shrooms:




I'm getting a tub with alot of similar pheno's- narrow at the base, fat in the middle, narrow at the top- and with really weird hat looking cap- some of them have a similar bluing in the middle- though not as much as that one- photos to come tommorownow

I just stumbled across this.

that's good knowing- a bunch of my last flush was like that- weird poofy marshmallow like is how I've described them - had the gut feeling these might be super potent. Difficult to imagine anything being more potent than the LAST round of Och's I ate- but we're going to find out!

I haven’t had these, but I love microdosing ATL#7 stones. Same thing. Cubes would make me feel slightly weird for a bit if I took a little too much. ATL#7 I will sometimes intentionally push the dose to make sure I slightly feel it. It’s always clean and uplifting.

I shook my Ochra jars today. I’m really excited about these all around.

Been reading through some of this thread. Not sure if these are nats or ochreaceontrata. Also is it typical these have no spores? Anyone know what these may actually be? Or am I just more confused as ever?

In my limited growing experience with these, the phenos it puts out are alot more varied than cubes. Currently have a few tubs going- most are putting out spores, but one tub- i've got some photos in a post a few before yours- don't appear to be dropping any and their caps are way open.

It seems like most everyone here is growing ochreaceontrata at the moment and not true nats. I wouldn't say it's "typical" for them to be no/low spore, but there does seem to be a culture (or more) going around that's low spore so it's not exactly uncommon either.

9x9, did you use black pepper, or black pepper extract?

I once bought an ashwagandha supplement that had black pepper extract in it and it made me feel weeeird man, like unsettled, which ashwagandha never does to me on its own.

Scared me off of black pepper extract tbh. But maybe it was combined with something it shouldn't have?

Just a quick question: You set up the monotubs the exact same way as with Cubes, right? Just more fresh air from what I've read!

I put some spores on petri dishes yesterday and just want to be ready. :smile:

I've read pretty frequently about how nats can eat through mold or use mold as a nutritional source so I just let took this bag with mold in it keep going and put it in an isolated area but I'm starting to feel kind of silly as this would always just be something to throw away.

Is it worth seeing how far this experiment goes or should I just toss it? Pics below are after a week of spotting the mold.

They don’t eat mold, they’ll just grow over it. It will still be there.
