Fk yeah. I love me some WR. Those are little bigger than mine but they seemed to Constantly grow not really ever a single flush but several weeks of pluck here and there . Strong too

I've seen 4 others, other then mine, they were very similar being in 22-24mg/g range. Mine being in the 30mg/g range seems high, but they were potent as hell (via bioassay) compared to my first try with Natalensis. I'm saving up to send a few samples in for hplc testing (or however you say it).

I have some new results to share and a cautionary tale.

The results for two myceliated grain samples, one pan cyan kona hi and one natalensis sample.

Here are the vials after carefully following the directions for the QTests in the order listed above.


The cautionary part is that I would have read these as at least 4, 4, 24, & 21 mg/g based on the picture and by eye. However, using the IO Rodeo Colorimeter and then confirming by eye in bright sunlight the results are actually more like 1.29 , 1.29, 13.33, & 10.50 mg/g.


So the moral of my cautionary tale is:
Be sure to check your Miraculix QTest results in bright sunlight. Even the brightest indoor light can give misleading readings.

Grow details:
Nats multispore -> agar -> millet/wheat grain jars -> compressed coir only with coir only top layer. Pins in 10 days, harvest in 8 more.
Pan cyan kona multispore -> brf pucks -> agar -> millet/wheat jar -> uncompressed coir/hpoo with top layer at spawn -> no casing. Pins and half grown in 12 days, harvest at day 16.
Myceliated subtopcalis grain clone LI -> millet -> harvest and dried at day 245.

What were the harvest weights (dried or wet) ?

As in the difference on total alkaloids between the two.

And little underwhelming on the myc-grain. Thoughts

I have a couple odd ball tests I've shared elsewhere I can reshare here.


Natalensis myceliated grain at ~30 days post inoculation.
Bio-assay of this was pretty low key; I think my tea extraction wasn't very effective.


Dehydrated vs Freeze dried Natalensis. Dehydrated on the left. Same culture as the above test, but a different cultivation run. I read these in person as around 17/18 mg/g.

Tested this PE x RW (Charlie Brown) f7 clone.


Dried to 96g. 2qts wheat > CV  @ 1:4-5ish laymixed 16qt tub.  Spawn to harvest - 3 weeks



Read in room 18mg but after looking through in brighter light, probably closer to 13-15mg

I was going to post this on the marketplace but I don't want someone who doesn't contribute to the community grabbing it so I'm posting here.
I have a 20% coupon from Miraculix for a mess up in my shipment of tests I just ordered. It has a 1 month expiration timeframe and I'm not going to use it by then(since I just ordered a few tests). Anyway the first to claim it on this thread can have it if you plan on using it by then. My only stipulation is that you must have posted in this thread at least 1 time. If no one claims it in a few days I'll post it in the marketplace. I'll :pm: the first one on here to claim it.

lewDoja :pm: sent. I will be retesting a couple of my dried shrooms that have sat in a container with an O2 absorber and desiccant packs. I read that the O2 packers chemically convert the psilocybin to psilocin while in storage. I believe the test was for powdered material so I'm looking to make sure I didn't kill my entire supply I worked on building for years. I also have a couple, like a blue meanie(cube) mutation I call Blue cheese, I never tested and would like to.

I have a test, was going to send it with some xmas.gift for my bro, since they sell them in town, and he had never seen one

However, I have some plates that have frosty blues mycelium that appears to be turning blue and wanted to test it..pulling the mycelium off of the agar and during it would be the process, correct?

I always read mycelium had actives but then heard differently except for a few species but not cubes, I wanted to test this tho

Cubes still have active alkaloids as long as it has a proper food source (in. Not water agar).

It's just not enough to make it worth while.
I bet some of Bigworms cubes (melmak tp clone- 39mg/g fruit) had a decent amount in the mycelium. Just speculation on my part tho.

If you haven't checked out Rev's Myceliated Grain Spawn Potency vs Time test 
He's doing all the hard work,  for this exact thing (not necessarily cubs tho).

Is there a conversation someone can link to a discussion about what we are learning from objective testing of our hobby?

a) are smaller fruits stronger?
b) are stems weaker?
c) are later flushes weaker?
d) was this toy mushroom made of rubber?

All of these threads discuss using the QTests to get some objective data on what we know and think we know.

I have more experiments coming as time and resources permit. And I solicit and welcome suggestions for more and better experiments.

Did a couple tests

This PE x RW f7 clone


Lower than I was expecting


Probably in the 11ish mg/g area

Also tested this maketi f3 albino clone

Slightly better than the PE x RW at ~12-13 mg/g but
At the same time, I probably would’ve read these higher before the colorimeter was in play.  I’m sure they still do the job just fine and probably more my speed anyhow lol

I' need a photometer.. i went back and fourth between the sun and a very bright white light led.

B+ showed the lowest potency, 1.3 ish.  You can tell by the color which one is b+. The psiloq test without a label is the tw2 x melmac 118 cross close up.

I'm going to retest these one day with the weight cut in half, two of the strains are too dark to tell exact potency, seems to be approaching 2% or above.  In best lighting it's nearly all blacked out, can't tell in pics but the tw2 seem a bit darker.  All these have been consumed, and potency is extreme as results show. 

I wrote the test strain name on the test picture.

Here are results from today's testing. I see that my stored products are losing potency faster then I'll be able to consume them. I'm not happy about that, but reality is reality and shit happens.

I ground up 3g dry for the test and weighed out .075g so results need to be doubled.
I'm seeing 0.6% or 6mg/g. Double to 1.2% or 12mg/g.


Yeti(1 year storage update)
Ah Yeti. I do love me some yeti. This is too test the potency loss after 1 year of storage in a air tight glass jar with O2 absorbers and desiccant packs. I do see quite a bit of loss.
Psilocybe Cubensis var. Yeti (from buddaking)
Harvested 08-05-23
Dried in dehydrator 24hrs @ 165f.
Stored in glass jar with desiccant and O2 absorber.
Well mixed when put in storage and picked random samples from multiple fruit equal to 4g to grind up in a coffee grinder for the test. I weighed out .075g of the homogenized mix for the test. Results viewed in direct sunlight.
Original results were 36mg/g or 3.6%.
1 year later they look more like 1%-1.2% so let's say 1.1% or 11mg/g doubled to get 2.2% or 22mg/g
Which is a loss of 14mg/g! I guess I'll have to start cultivation back up and renew my supply more often.
