Pan cyan first grow log (TTBVI) 7

Started with a spore print I received from an awesome guy on Patreon. I followed Gordotek’s tek on this.
Put to agar and it colonized rapidly.
Took it to WBS. Again, crazy fast colonization. (About a week)
With an aluminum cake pan, I spawned to 2 full cake pans chopped straw, 1 full cake pan field aged horse manure, 1/2 a cake pan vermiculite, and a quarter cup of gypsum. Colonized in less than 10 days.
Cased with 50/50 peat and verm with some hydrated lime. (Can’t remember how much without my notes in front of me.)
Consolidated for 24 hours and put it into fruiting conditions in a Martha setup.
I didn’t have proper exhaust and the casing colonized with some trays up to 90%.
Fixed the exhaust issue and recased and kept in fruiting conditions. Couple days later I have pins! Nothing is more exciting than pins!

Also, if anyone could link the forum rules, I’d really appreciate it. I took about a 10 year hiatus on this site and am pretty rusty navigating it. Thanks!

Nice pans! Could you describe the trip? Is this any stronger than other pans? If you ever tried Wild Coast Africa is TTBVI stronger than WCA?

I have yet to actually try these haha. Wanted to this past weekend but had too much to do. 🤦 I’ve never had pans of any sort before. Actually only cubes so far!

Another tray. I had my humidity and fae way out of whack. Had a lot of aborts. I FINALLY think I have it dialed it beautifully now. Only took 2 weeks

nice results but seems overly complicated. isn't Gordotek’s tek just a cut and paste of outdated stuff on the shroomery? You should try this one https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/27637997#27637997

Honestly man I never seen his tek on that. Worth a go though to see how it turns out! I honestly love this Martha setup. Once dialed in, it works so well. Flush after flush just keeps pouring in, every day and every night lol. And if I’m gone all day at work, I know the humidity and air is perfect and they’re fine when I get back

Update. Flushes continue to pour in. Harvest every morning and every evening. One tray stopped producing several days ago. I let it be, which was definitely a mistake. Usually a stall is a sign of contamination. Took it away from my grow area and peeled the side down and of course, trich. Flipped outside in the trash can literally 90% of it was trich. Everything but the top layer. The top layer looked perfect. In the future, I may begin to use only clear containers to more easily observe contaminations. Now I’m worried about spores.

As you can see, with the clear container, the substrate looks perfect. From now one, anything stalled on these TTBVI, is gone, immediately. This species is so fast and aggressive, nothing should have to be a wait.

I’ve recently learned that plant grade gypsum actually purposely can contain trich (source: willy myco’s patreon video on either Grain Water LC or No Soak Grain… sorry can’t recall which exact video.) Apparently some plants enjoy trich. I’ve been using this kind of gypsum unfortunately.
Took all the trays out, cleaned the Martha up thoroughly with bleach and hoping for the best. Of course once trich has surfaced green, spores are already everywhere. So the remaining trays most likely will be contaminated. Will continue to do bleach cleans once all trays are trashed and start over. I already have trays I put into fruiting a couple days ago in another tent. So I’m not that worried. Also ordered mushroom grade gypsum as well this morning. I shied away from it before because of the price difference. You’d think 5 lbs for $16 bucks vs 3.5 lbs for $24 would be a no brainer 🤦♂️

mold and its spores are killed at 140 F, cooking your gypsum in the oven may save you a couple $

yeah, that should kill the tric. have you put your sub/casing/gypsum mix in a container by itself to see if it trics out with no spawn? when i get a new brand of Cior i put aside a shoebox of it (hydrated to FC) to see if it grows anything.

I have not. That’s not a bad idea though. I definitely should.
The bleach clean in the Marty definitely helped big time though. Still getting continuous flushes day and night

Another update.. at first I was picking fruits here and there delicately, trying not to whack any pins. Quickly realized I didn’t have time for that. The flushes just pour in like crazy. Now I just yank them all, pins and everything… like that one deforestation scene from Ferngully 😂
