Nice! What was your substrate and how did you prep it?

Just hwfp and I think around 15% bran dumped in a bucket with boiling water. I didn’t write anything down aside from marking which bags were pasteurized in the bucket and which were sterilized, but I think I probably knocked it up with a quart of spawn which is way more than I use with the sterilized bags so that might have something to do with the yield also.

That's a ultrasonic humidifier. Most of them have a removable top spigot that abs piping fits nicely into. That is a 2" p trap. I decided to give the buddies some nice fresh air and light in their final hours

It’s incredible how slow this shiitake culture is. Bags are over 4 months old now.

I put one in the fridge for a week but wasn’t smart enough to mark it to see if it browned quicker or not.

Also the blocks are so soft now. Almost like a sponge.

Definitely super slow. When I tried shiitake in a little under 90 days my bags looked like this and were pinning in the bag

Yeah the place i got my lcs from kinda sucked. All of them were trash until i either cloned a shitty fruit or worked some of the lc on agar until it was looking strong. Prob just really old syringes.

They look great! Did you just cut a line in the side of the bags?
