Yeah I don't feel like I'm seeing cube myc either.  Get in some good light, and play around with the angle to keep the glare off the container when you're doing so - and you'll get a good pic.  Light is your friend with that task.  Put it close to a light source and mess around with it.  Then you'll know where the best place in your house is to take agar shots ffr  Hard to take a good agar shot the first few times but you'll get it.

Here's whats currently running in my neck of the woods...yes I know the Yellow and Golden oysters should be the same, but they came from different sources so I'm keeping them seperate until the best fruiter is found.  The X7XT3's are the first transfers after using the trench technique to remove a significant halo - they look great now.  I've still got Winecaps, Lions Mane, King Oyster, Pink Oysters and Enoki to get going here soon...looks like it's almost time to do a giant run of slants for them.

Update from my last post:
I've made some transfers from the original (spore grown) colonies after one week;
now, those transfers are also one week old and are looking solid (although one is contaminated).

I've taken a look at Stro's Cleaning and Isolating On Agar writeup, and will continue to try getting to a good isolated strain that I can then multiply and spawn to grain.

Which colony/sector would you guys recommend for further transfers?

The bottom left dish has the fastest growth by a decent margin.
Also seems to have some well identifyable sectors; the top left (8o'clock-1 o'clock) sector seems to be fastest growing.

I recommend not taking pictures with a textured surface behind your plates like that counter top your plates are on, and TBH I would also recommend petri dishes and pouring your plates or finding a container with better clarity for your no pours.

However, despite the poor quality pictures, I feel I can say I do not think you have what you were hoping to grow on those plates.

On the bright side, you grew something and I think you have some beautiful looking trich there.

You see trich I'm there? Your eyes are better than mine. I can see something but couldn't tell you what.

Blue light with glare on top. Frosted containers and no backlighting I cant suggest anything other than something is growing.

Chummmp take pics with natural light and pics holding the plates with lighting behind them so we can see what we're looking at.

I was thinking of taking a transfer from the first two plates as a bit of funkiness showed up on both. I marked in green the ones that grew fastest, they also look the most uniform imo but let me know what you guys think.

I also just wanted to include the jmf clone because I love looking at it. Gonna let that one finish up, I think.

I don't see trich, not saying there aren't ride alongs but trichoderma makes visible spores on agar very quickly. It is one of the most obvious molds I have ever seen in a dish.

Here are dishes of different trichs I grew on purpose. Captured from tubs that went green.

4 oclock in your second pic is a contaminate fungal colony but not trich.

That's some mighty nice trich you've got there Nichrome. I made one of those a while back myself. 😆 Mine was less on purpose though.

Those are some beautiful plates of trich guys.

I'm sorry trich for slandering you, please don't infect all my plates as pay back.

@chummmp - Get some better photos, but otherwise don't listen to me

My daughter has infected me with about the worst flu I've had in about 10 years, and I had to pour some plates last night

The pour felt horrible, I can almost guarantee I'll be looking at revenge of the trich soon enough.

Just trying to keep happy thoughts about all the nice agar plates I’m coming home to soon

Plate in pic #4 (center left) is the only plate I would transfer from for now.

Also swirl your agar instead of shaking it when hot pouring to avoid the bubbles in the plate (assuming that is what happened)

I tried to take on board the very valid criticisms of my previous pictures and improve, but I still think they're not ideal.  Really messed with lighting and phone settings but I guess my resources (and brain) are limited.  Hope this is a little better and has a little more clarity.  Probably just a bunch of trich, although these are about 12 days at approx 21c and none of them are showing green so maybe not?

Again, thanks for the replies, thoughts and time you've given me.  Cheers.

Definitely not trichoderma; I don't think there is any mold of any sort. Get some other opinions, but as far as I can see through that lid, you have a healthy germination plate. Take a few transfers - you can do 2 or 3 per donor plate if you want to conserve plates while having more to choose from.

Those are all the same species?

Top center looks like Weraroa.

Looks like some Subtropicalis, Semilanceata, Caerulescens.

All the same or a game to be each pic?

Still not great but much better.

These 2 spots look good. Don't transfer the whole area I marked. Just small slices at the edge of the myc growth.

They're at likely more spots to transfer. My eyes are getting old but I can see those 2 breakout spots. You want to look for the germination points and go for the mycelium that is growing fastest away from it. Any growth that turns rhizo get that as well. Here is the germination point of one section I marked and an outline of the myc growing away from it.
