The reputation of the US only now got worse for people who believe in a two tiered justice system, for everyone else it's an improvement to the reputation of the US for finally following through on prosecuting someone in a high position for the crimes they evidently did commit and have now been found guilty of.

Get Hillary, get Bush, get em all I say. If there's enough evidence to prosecute a guilty charge, it's the right precedent to set.

Who cares Koods?  It is absolutely naked political persecution.

Where’s the trial for bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld? What about Obama for the extrajudicial killing of an American citizen?  How about war crimes for sending cruise missiles into other sovereign nations which the US have not declared war on?

Why weren’t the presidents who authorised the cia to overthrow democratically elected governments, the training of terrorist death squads on US soil, the funnelling of drug money to fund other death squads on foreign soil so they could butcher innocent people put before the courts?

Hmm. Zero trials.  Ever.  For crimes that slaughtered thousands and thousands of people. And yet the leading opponent for a dementia patient in the next election deserves extra special attention.  All the time. For everything.

I can’t stand trump on a personal level. But the “we got him” rhetoric from a bunch of people who lack any talent at critical thinking will hoo hah and celebrate is repugnant in the same way that squealing toddlers in a library are.

From across the pacific the utterly hollow, hypocritical and ludicrous state of your political and justice system could never be made more readily apparent.

And now, as much as I HATE the prospect, I actually hope trump wins the next election. Just so I can come back here and let the self righteous tears of so many bereft cave dwellers sustain me.

Either put all of your king criminals on trial, or none.  America is a joke of a nation in 2024.

There should have been a trial for all of them, the only difference is that this one worked, probably because trump got sloppy, and left enough evidence to make it easier to do.

The fact that this case against trump was effective doesn't mean just because the ones against others weren't effective, that this one isn't legitimate.

This weird false equivalence is fascinating but blatantly clear to us now.

Bush wasn't charged so trump can't be convicted? Get real!

Did you not read the part where I said charge them all for their crimes (many involving the deaths of thousands) or none?

The government would need to prosecute themselves to convict for warcrimes, even Trumps done warcrimes with assasinating Iranian leaders, and like Bush, Obama, Biden etc he got away with that. If someone can pin Biden for his warcrimes then hallelujah.

Trump commited felonies outside of war crimes here.

To be more specific, this case with trump where he was found guilty, was for fraudulently paying a porn star to keep her silence.

The difference is that the other presidents didn't commit a personal felony that makes it easy to prosecute them. No small prosecuter outside of the government itself is going to be able to make and fund a case against an ex president for war crimes.

But if one of them slipped up, and commited felonies on a personal level, well then hey, it's fair game.

Trump and other presidents alike have the protection of executive privilege for the warcrimes they've commited, but not for felonies in their personal lives. You get it?

You need a lot of time, money and evidence to make a firm legal case, and it's a lot easier to prosecute a case involving the dealings of one individual and their immediate circle than it is an entire branch of the government, let alone the leader of the government itself.

The takeaway is that Trump got sloppy and made it an easy case.

Hillary was on trial for the security breachment crimes she was charged with, that case didn't work out though, but as for Bush you're right I suppose, he has that executive priviledge alike when it relates to his warcrimes. Although if someone can make a case for what he did in florida to charge him? Well, that's more trying to prosecute the government branch leaders rather than the individual one for personal crimes.

Trump slipped up and dropped evidence of personal crimes, and now he's been found guilty of it. With 34 felonies.

The term "War Crime" doesn't really mean anything in America... Our justice system is more concerned with people fucking pornstars..

They go after Trump for mishandling classified documents, but not Biden or Clinton...

It's a whacky system, and while it is nice to see someone get knocked down from such great heights, the American "justice system" certainly has not been vindication.

Biden didn't refuse to give back the classified documents, I don't know why you  skim over that fact.

Frankly for Hillary, it is the case that the trial didn't work out in finding her guilty whether we like it or not.

How do you think this will impact independents, swing states etc.

Normies don't look at this verdict and flock to support trump.

I'm more excited to see the faceplants of people trying to defend the notion that trump is the victim here on msm when the legal basis for the verdict is layed out clearly to them.

Fyi, this was a state case, so this isn't a trial by Biden.

Plenty of people will be galvanised for trump, but I think more will become ostracised.
