That’s an extremely euphemistic way to say “get killed”. I just wanted to draw attention to the fact that the worker still has the chance to survive. If they have survival skills they could keep themselves alive. The livestock get a captive bolt to the brain.

I just think the simile falls apart under any scrutiny.

How does a worker keep themselves alive, regardless of survival skills? Playing Bear Grylls in the Continental US is a great way to rack up several dozen felonies in most states. In the states where you don't rack up several dozen, you rack up several hundred.

My original point was that the "American Worker" isn't being bred like the puppies in the Fallout show. I was never arguing about the pragmatism of being a survivalist in the Continental US. My point was simply that the vast majority of humans are not being bred like livestock.

Are most humans still slaves to their sex drives and reproduce even if their circumstances suggest they shouldn't? That's a different conversation.

EDIT: Wait, I was actually asking Durian if he was equating abortion to culling livestock.
