Oh, it's certainly unpopular. For the last time, I'll respond to whoever is quoting me. Maybe instead of commenting and then scampering off, you and the rest of the pro-child abuse types could just be quiet? This thread is like 2% discussion of unpopular opinions.

We technically need higher rates of babies to be made. The declining birth rates are a problem for western countries, so maybe it would improve the situation if more kids were made.

I understand the argument in favor of a increasing birth rates, but I disagree that we need it.

Declining birth rates is a problem for companies and industries that rely on a competitive labor pool to keep wages down. It's a problem for companies whose business models rely on indefinite cycles of volume sales. It's a problem for keeping the military manned to the teeth, and it's a problem for leveraging global political and economic influence. It's a problem if you own tons of real estate.

There is a concentrated effort by billionaires, businesses and government players to push the idea that we're in a population crisis if we don't keep increasing our population size through increased birthrates or immigration. These are the groups that benefit most from population increases. But for the individual, a steadily shrinking population is almost certainly to our benefit.

After the first wave of the Black Death in the 1346 – 1353 period, it wiped out 30-60% of any populations effected all across Europe, Asia, the Middle East and North Africa - all in a 7 year period globally. Despite this rapid and heavy loss of life, you can see across each of these populations that bone density, health and nutrient availability appears to have increased across the board among those that survived. After the plague, the heavy loss of life created an incredible labor shortage, to the point that most people in the peasant classes had the option to choose their own work and negotiate their wages for the first time in centuries.

You see mass migrations taking place during this period, which many European governments attempted to ban - but such laws tended to be unenforceable because there simply wasn't enough free labor to artificially keep people in place. Survivors inherited land and material wealth of those that died, sometimes entire families wealth would go to singular people, and were able to spend it freely on things like beer and cheese. An economy began to develop among lower classes that were traditionally excluded from such trades.

All across Europe during this period, you see a drastic increase in the number of people specializing in things like beer making, pig breeding, cheese making, art. The land owning classes that held all the power prior to the plague, eventually had to start selling land which was being left undeveloped to lower classes who were choosing their own means of making a living. All the undeveloped land not being used for wheat and barley farming anymore was instead being used to grow more nutrient dense and more profitable crops for the new classes acquiring land.

As people moved freely, new trades and businesses started popping up in urban centers. One of the major causes for the decline of feudalism was the bubonic plague. The renaissance began in Italy shortly after (about the same years as) the plague ended.

Not eager for a devastating plague by any means, but it's a prime example of how a declining population can benefit the average person when any kind of infrastructure is left behind from the previous generation. In the modern context, if we saw a declining population in the US and other western nations I think you'd see more affordable housing situations, more competitive wage growth, more deliberately engineered consumer goods (as opposed to planned obsolescence), higher quality of life derived from ones means of living, and a shrinking imperial mindset abroad. I tend to think the only people that would actually suffer from it are billionaires, middle men and government psychopaths.

There is no such thing as "gender assignment." I disagree with mutilating children's bodies with procedures they don't need and can't consent to.

i don't think the language is such. the surgery seems to be called gender confirming. it seems also that assign may not be incorrect as gender seems to be made up of biological and social inputs

stareatclouds said:
Let me know when my country is legalizing sex slavery or killing children and I promise I'll talk about it. This is such a weird line of thinking. "OH YEAH, WHY AREN'T YOU MAD ABOUT OTHER STUFF, TOO?"

see below i guess. i didn't realize your only concern was the legality

stareatclouds said:
Go find the quote. If I said anything related to this, it's commenting on the irrelevance of number of dead to proportionate response. You don't not attack an enemy because they launch attacks from schools and mosques.

how exactly do you determine a proportionate response when the number of dead are irrelevant? what values are proportional?

stareatclouds said:
No, it's delusional to think that without evidence. It's also insane to separate this group of people into their own demographic. You might as well track "people with red hats" separately. The numbers of transgender people being killed for being trans are entirely made up. They are inflated to insane amounts and fall apart with a modicum of research.

I also don't know wtf that has to do with anything? I am against anybody being physically assaulted for no reason, especially for being "different."

Again, our country isn't sanctioning or legalizing people to beat on trans-identified youth. If they were, you'd hear me speak out about something so shitty. Instead, places are making it a hate crime to speak truthfully about sex. That's insane. I speak on it.

"Federal threat monitoring has shown that these threats are increasingly tied to hate groups and domestic violent extremists. LGBTQI+ Americans – especially transgender women and girls of color – have experienced disproportionately high rates of violence and hate crimes for decades."  dhs.gov

i don't know why you think it's insane to separate people into categories for the purposes of identifying/creating statistics. the red hats thing is ridiculous. also you should note that i didn't say anything about murders. i said physically assaulted.

i bring it up because you would probably call yourself pragmatic. this seems to be one of your pet causes. i don't understand the focus. there are much more evil things occurring towards children in the world and i don't really see much from you concerning any other of these threats to children. i see now that your issue is only over the legality of child surgeries. even so i still find the fixation weird.

places are making it a hate crime to speak out about sex? can you be more specific? what places? specifically what content is illegal?

stareatclouds said:
It's abnormal to assume everyone speaking out is some imagined monster of the far-right.

no one said anyone was a monster of the far right. lynch said what was being said sounded like a prager U video. i implied smelly was a conservative.

stareatclouds said:
Like I said before, people who think they're doing the right thing... problematic. You aren't.

this applies to you. you can't demonstrate that any of what you are doing is helping. you also can't demonstrate that it isn't harmful

This is how you wind up defending...

the ol' slippery slope eh? there's nuance in between the extremes which you don't seem to recognize or are ignoring for dramatic effect. it's appealing to make ridiculous caricatures of your opponents but you aren't going to be very accurate

stareatclouds said:
This dude needed a source on my "claim" that it is not possible to have a brain that doesn't match your body.

iirc, you claimed it was scientifically impossible to be born in the wrong body.
i expected something more compelling that your circular "your body is your body"
your brain gives rise to your experience. if your experience is that of someone in the wrong body... it originated in the brain. you have and will probably say something of brainwashing. a child who is incapable of consent as you say but somehow able to identify if they've been brainwashed?

you don't have access to anyone's qualia but your own. for all you know everyone else could be zombies. you can't even prove other people experience consciousness.  you can look at biology all day long and still know nothing of other people's experience. you can call it a mental illness as it demonstrates a "change in thinking or behavior" but it doesn't discount the experience or make it illegitimate. i'm not willing to say they are wrong because they say their experience doesn't match their biology. as for the children... it's none of my business. if you want to change the legality of the operation go vote for a republican.

again, that thing about fixation. you accuse those opposite you of having a fetish. i notice that people kind of give themselves away through their concerns. the most vocal proponents of gun reform are those who've lost a loved one in a gun accident or some act of gun violence. many of those vocal about grooming turn out to have a taste for minors. cops really hate criminals yet break the law and push up aginst people's rights all the time. one can take these stances without being a hypocrite but when someone seems extremely invested i start to wonder what is motivating them

stareatclouds said:
Much of this religion uses the same tactics throughout, obfuscating reality with duping language. I mean, these are the people shouting down people as hateful bigots for correctly calling men what they are: men. Every trans-identified person already has the same rights as any of us, including for gender/sex. So they try and change the meaning of gender in order to supersede sex. It's insane.

it's funny about the religion, considering this issue is a rallying point for christian conservatives. no one has shouted you down as a hateful bigot. you are doing the thing that supposedly is happening to you. you are reducing your perceived opponents into simplistic caricatures.

stareatclouds said:
As I said, their viewpoints are centered on their own subjective opinion of "trans" being an objective and accepted fact. Thus, anything pushing back is considered "anti-trans", including the opinion of doctors and researchers. There's no reason to shout down people advocating for the requirement of better evidence to questionable treatment. That should be encouraged, especially when there's plenty of evidence to irreparable harm done to vulnerable children.

no one is shouting you down mr victim. you seem to be the one shouting down. you use all caps pretty frequently. no one here is against standards or continued research. if they are they haven't vocalized it.

Rather than accepting that it exists as a form of a cabaret (and remember that curtained-off part of the old Blockbuster?) you took weird sex stuff to kids' libraries and posted armed guards on adjoining rooftops.

If you literally respected any of the demographics you say, they would not be used for bait dogs.

I was quoting someone else who said that. And no, gender is just how society and culture view the 2 sexes. They are stereotypes about the sexes. That's it.

Quote:

The concern is that people are approving something demonstrably harmful to many with 0 meaningful stats on it helping people. I shouldn't need to announce I'm against people illegally trafficking minors or something. We already have laws against that and specific task forces to catch the people involved. That's quite a bit different, don't you think?

Quote:

There isn't one. That's the point. It's a stupid metric to bring up for anything.

Please find me any datasets that validate this and discuss the cause of the crimes. It is insane to separate these categories because not everybody even recognizes someone as "trans." You have to prove these people were attacked DUE TO their trans-identity, which the datasets never do. So it's just as stupid as grouping by red hats. I have no clue wtf any of this has to do with anything though.

I brought up murders because those are actually tracked better and a good indicator of how reliable the stats are. And whenever you look into it, you find out they were RARELY killed on the basis of being trans. Forgive me if I don't believe the "misgendering is literal violence" group on these alleged assaults. Again, you sound like a moron with, "There are other things to be mad about!" Then go argue about those with someone? It's pretty serious to me that we're normalizing child mutilation, especially when it largely affects neurodivergent kids with several mental health issues. This whole thing is fucked.

Yes, I know you find this "fixation" weird, because you're a fucking weirdo defending it. I'm not willing to go back and forth with you knowing you're always going to be a-okay with putting children on experimental drugs they can't consent to do something literally impossible. I have an issue with it because I emphasize with the many children I see speaking out against this who are constantly depressed because they're sterile and believe they've ruined their lives. There are lawsuits already on how these kids didn't understand wtf was going on.

I don't need to prove why it's a bad idea. It should be on the weirdos end for why we need it. And there's no evidence it does anything good for anybody. It was always a last resort for transsexuals and their suicidality does not decrease.

It's always the freaks trying to shame others for saying "no." The fixation is on your end and it's with sterilizing kids. No thanks. GFY.

Nobody should use any mayonnaise to make tuna fish.

Replace that with ranch dressing. It’s better tasting plus mayo is worse for you and nasty.

Making tuna with oil and vinegar is WAY better. Virgin olive oil and balsamic or red wine vinegar.

I agree though that society used to be setup better for a man to provide for the family by himself but I think a lot of it has to do with all the shit we spend money on that wasn't around back then

Women dominate HR, retail, restaurant work, sales.

This is only valid if youre God and the world and human population is your video game.

But declining birth rates will suck more for us, for generations, as the ratio of old non working people to tax paying workers will shift away from your favor and life will cost more for you and your grand children. And we dont live in the dark ages, we live in the medical technology so we wont get the giant burn off of human burden you need to enjoy the benefits of depopulation.

Wer going to be paying for more old people to stay alive and be pensioned with less young people to pay the taxes for them so enjoy that if you think thats what you want

I use mind control to defecate only once every 14 days in the form of an extremely compact small cubic pellet. When it hits the water, it rapidly expands to 20x the initial size like one of those little foam dinosaur things. It winds up resembling that scene from Dogma, but it's still more convenient than multiple dumps throughout the month. I highly recommend it.
