I like their Choking Victim music better. Leftover Crack is good but it can't compare to their early years as CV.
A friend of mine went to see Leftover Crack at Holidays in the Sun up in New Jersey, she said it was awsome.
I don't smoke crack but if I ever hung out with them I'd make an exception.
Misfits are good, I really like them but after hearing their stuff a SHITLOAD, I got over it and moved on. A REALLY good band is A Global Threat, ya ever hear of them?

I have not heard of them at all for I am not "in the scene" I did see Deglo Abortions in late November though, and I must admit they put on one hell of a show. I also got into a Misfits concert some time back in Augest, one of the best concerts I've ever been to by far. But the all time BEST concert EVER would have to be Gwar. I mean... If you don't like the music, atleast go for the stage show.

uhh yea, some of those are good, but the others are more alternative, especially No Use for a Name. Check out some Choking Victim, Leftover Crack, A Global Threat, Germs, Bad Brains, GG Allin, Blanks 77, Casualties, The Virus, Circle Jerks, Boredom, Turbonegro(more hard rock but still kick ass), and a lot others are more the definition of punk than some of those you posted. Open your eyes to the non-commercial shit, its a lot better than commercialized shit or at least most of it is, if you got a good punk scene around your area then check out the shows, they're cheap.

I have to agree with Cracka X, most of those bands are very much contributors to punk. I would classify NOFX and Lagwagon and old GOB as Skate punk, and Skate punk ruined the scene, its got nothing to do with what the original movement was about. Ensign...well i saw them live, there were 7 people at the show. They are the furthurest genre from punk around...They were opening for hatebreed on their tour, they are straight up in your face hardcore/metal.
To each his own though, just shown my agreement.

I refuse to buy into the whole commercial vs. non-commercial argument. It seems like when a band enjoys even a modicum of sucess they're labelled as commercial. Out of the bands I listed. the only ones you could even remotely construe as "alternative" are NUFAN and newer Gob and Lagwagon stuff. Good Riddance are punk as fuck...so is Bad Religion. I'll check out some of those bands you listed, although I've already heard Bad Brains and wasn't overly impressed.
Ensign kind of deviates between thrash punk and metal, depending on the song.

I havn't a problem with them being commercial, shit they're making money and having fun at the same time, BUT THEY MAKE LOUSY FUCKING MUSIC MOST OF THE TIME compared to the guys who've been playing for years and are just getting popular and don't have a huge label to back them on and don't get nearly as much credit the commerical shit does. I havn't a problem with big labels except music turns to shit SOMETIMES when with them.

Yeah, i really dont care about the commerical vs Non commerical shit either, The label is making the money generally not the band. But of the bands you listened they mostly arnt punk, they are genre's which have formed from Punk. Ive seen good riddence live aswell, and they are not punk as fuck...Same with NOFX, theyre just a bunch of goofs. Bad religion aswell, theyre a great band, there is no contesting that, however they are not a band that has the true punk sound...more new punk/skate punk, although they do have fantastic lyrical content. If your going to use the phrase punk as fuck, do it while refering to moral crux, DOA, The cro mags, maybe swingin' utters, defiance...etc. Anyways, this thread has gotten way off topic! Lets see some more lyrics that mean something to you.
