This plate started with the same type of growth.
You think what is growing looks like mold? cobweb?

Looks alright, I didn't see the charcoal thing. Like I said, only time will tell. Let it ride until you see color or it gives up. Start a new project now so you aren't waiting for more.

Just poured 15 more PP5 plates with 3 T2 transfer and got 6 grain jars ready and waiting.
If it turns green I'll make sure to post an example of what not to do:salute:

I didn't see the charcoal in the recipe at first. Hopefully that's the issue.

Hi everyone,

Is there any consensus on charcoal?
Do we use it or not?

I believe lot of you don't like to complicate shit and do simply MEA, but I also saw on here some wicked beautiful plates by Kat (Nektar61) using PDA with active charcoal which I was not able to reproduce so far.

But then again I'm a noob and am still figuring out how to consistently make clean agar plates.

Man, I don't think there is consensus on anything. I've seen just as many posts lauding the protective properties of activated charcoal as damning it. "Activated charcoal killed my dad."

All I can say is that I have done plates with and without it and they all seemed to grow stuff about the same. I like how it looks so I am still using it for now.

:whathesaid:

No matter the recipe they all perform roughly the same, if there's a difference they're imperceptible. With the exception of water agar.

Charcoal is excellent for contrast.

Hello Everyone

Been a very long time.  I’ve been quietly perfecting my craft and plate work and must say I am thrilled about agar and it’s ability to provide the perfect conditions for ANY kind of growth.

I am 100% contam free in my plate work.

Here to share my Pan Aussie and Leucistic PEUW journey with everyone.

Yeah man! Just been taking your advice. Growing mushrooms and ignoring the BS.

Life is good. Healthy. Been excited about this pan. Aussie grow on the way.

Also have some new genetics that I am excited to play with.

new cultures and genetics:

Yeti TAT

Thai Goliath ( Pan Cambo)

Sandose Domesticate (Pan Cambo)

Pan. Cyan. (Aussie.)

Squat Melmac  -  BasEq Genetics

APE - Manna From Heaven Genetics

Very excited to grow all of these and share my knowledge with any newcomers.

Hey man! My plate process is very simple.

10g Agar
7g LME
500ml RO Purified Water

Sterilized at 15psi for 15-20 min. Poured by hand. Although, I am considering starting to use a peristaltic pump for dish prep at 1000ml Pyrex Bottle

Here's an LME agar plate that had water agar transfer growing out on it for about 5 days now. Photos made from different angles with and without flash.
The plates are glass 80mm no-pours so there's some visible smudging on the inside of the lid.

Any comments? Does it look ok so far?

Center of my plate bruised(?) after I opened in my SAB to get a transfer.
What happened?

Anyone ever transfer from their tub's substrate to agar? Debating on pulling on of the strands growing outwards with sterile tweezers and putting it on a plate.

Comparative to its initial condition I'd say so. It's been sitting for 5 weeks in roughly 75 Fahrenheit so I wouldn't be surprised.
What does one do if a plate start to look dry?
