With simmering or boiling grains we get it so the grain is hydrated inside, not starchy inside, but why do we let them dry so much after they're cool to the touch? Is it so they can rehydrate the outside again in the PC a little?

I would like to contribute back to the forum. I think an inexpensive solution (flow head) would be of interest. Not sure why this is such a problem for me. I am not so familiar with the operations of this forum compared to others I have been on.
I will give it another go tomorrow. It's bedtime here.

Yes and it works very well. In my opinion much better than breaking them up. Just lay out a couple inches of coir, pack the cakes in like jars in the case they came in (touching at the edges) and then cover with another inch of coir. Big beautiful flushes.


Want to bury a cake today. But i am not sure how many inches "a couple inches" are.

Any advice how thick the coir layer below the cake needs to be?

And is a full inch above the cake a good amount? Seems like a bit too much to me.

I am using a 3 litre tub for a single cake.
