I said that they "seem fine". Propably a contam but the shapes in the agar could have been caused by the forced spray of liquid. Im quite sure that i would have smelled it if they were bad but cant be sure. Maby i should have kept them just to be sure. Still.. They looked so ugly that im washing the plates.

Seems like 99% of people in shroomery mushcult use the Bucket Tek. I do not and for saying this they call me arrogant cause i dont have pictures of my own mushrooms here. The mycoforum of my country just got their proof of shroomerys hostility. I do like it here though becaus of the agar. The archives are valuable.

I have a confession i guess
I've been active on this forum for almost a decade and I'm just now doing my first grow.. for a bunch of boring reasons. I'm so fuckin stoked to participate here in a new way. :2girls1cup:

The shapes are caused by the over spray... and bacteria spreading all over through that shit.

Hmm... So a week old bacteria dish wouldnt look nastier and smell? When i took swab samples from the kitchens for government supervision they grew out really fast in to lots of different colors.
(yes its a requirement here to take regular samples)

nope.  doesnt smell like anything. you grew a monoculture of bacteria.  yeast if i had to guess which isnt technically bacteria but  i'm not a microbiologist. just a guy who knows a fucked up plate when i see one.

It’s not a secret, but I started with Uncle Bens. One of my very very first interactions on this site was me telling Lotkid that my 70% failure rate wasn’t a problem because 30% was enough success for me to reach my goals. I stand by what I said in the context and time, but it’s pretty hilarious to me now.

What you all DONT know is, after those first two grows, I did a third one. Asked for help and all kinds of stuff without mentioning the uncle Ben’s bags because I had learned by that point not to do it. I just wanted to do one more for some reason. For fun. That’s when my luck ran out and I think only 1 tub survived that third run.

I took a loooong wiff from the nastier one and it does have a small but recognisable bacterial smell. The other one with visible myc in the middle MABY has a slight myc odour to it. So little that i can barely sense anything. Good that i threw them away. :laugh:

Well i was throwing them away anyways. Did not care that much so inspected them quickly and concentrated on taking the pics. I said "small but recognizable". Is this not a confession thread for mistakes? I quess not then.
