There are also quite a number of aborts, but since this is my first time ever, I don't know if this is a genetic thing, or a contam/environment thing. The base of the shrooms are also fuzzy, and there's some fuzz on the top of some small pins, not sure if they're cobweb or just my mycelium.

Is my tub still good for a second flush, or should I get rid of it? Do you think those spots are contams or just spores?




It isn't pretty but it might go again. There are a couple questionable spots on there.

Harvest everything on there and use Beefs Punisher Tek then soak it submerged for an hour and let it rip and see what happens.

My cakes have been soaking for about 21 hrs now so I'm getting ready to case them and put them in the water tub :smile:

I spent about 3 hours rehydrating coir, adding verm, mixing etc and I litterally checked every handful for field capacity. All of it is either at field capacity or slightly under with maybe 1 drop dripping from squeezing.



I got 6 cakes and I'm still really not sure if I should do half and half coir and verm to hedge my bets or all dry verm roll. If it were your first grow what would you do ?  I really don't mind all that work going to waste I just want the best for my cakes.

Nevermind on the second question I had to get the air bubbles out of the Jars for them not to float

Turn them right side up and fill them with water. They won’t float.

Is it a bad thing that my cakes float?

I just usually turn the container so that it gets stuck on the little thing in the middle, and it stays away from the bubble.

Alternatively, build your cakes on small saucers or similar dishes with a rim so they can sit directly on the floor of the water tub.

Fersure I'm just really nervous I guess.  I got the Jars in there, that was pretty much the only thing I have to elevate them.

Ahh wow that's smart to have em right side up and filled with water thank you guys :hug:

I guess I should just make a descion maybe 4 cakes in verm other 2 in coir since there's unknowns. Can't fuck up a verm roll

Hello guys 😁

I have questions about the second, third flush….

I use bags, I would open them before the FFU when I make the first harvest. Would harvest before the cuticle would break.

Then water would go completely into the bags until everything is covered.

Is all this true so far, or are there suggestions, tips or another approach?

Would leave the water in the bag for a few hours. Of course, the bag will be welded again. I'm even thinking about putting it in the fridge. Then pour out the water and weld it again. Then I'll wait for the second

Is it all correct?

Why bother with the FFU for harvesting?

And there's no requirement to harvest before the veils break, unless you seriously hate spores and are willing to harvest some immature fruit or make multiple harvests for a flush. I usually (not always) wait until most of the mushrooms are fully mature (which usually also means they're dropping spores) and take them all at once.

Hydrate however you like. Putting water in the bag for hours or overnight works fine. No need to ever seal the bag again.

Can spawn be too dry? I did the drippy corn tek and I’d swear it looks too dry after 10 or so days. Did a pinch of verm as required and it even looks dry. Should there be any visible signs of moisture? I know no liquid on the bottom but should there be any condensation?
