TRICHODERMA - NOT FUN
    #27402239 -

I FOUND THAT MY CAKES WERE RIDDLED WITH TRICHODERMA, AT LEAST 99.9% SURE THAT'S WHAT IT IS. I STARTED TO LOSE CROP AFTER THE FIST FLUSH, NOT JUST A FEW CAKES, ALL OF THEM STOPPED PRODUCING. THEN, I FOUND ONE WITH BRIGHT GREEN MOLD ON IT AND THOUGHT I LEFT AN ABORT TOO LONG, UNTIL I FOUND ANOTHER ONE THIS MORNING AFTER I HAD SNIPPED THE ABORTS. I'M REALLY UPSET ABOUT LOSING MY BABIES, BUT I'LL DO BETTER NEXT TIME.

IT'S MORE GREEN THAN THE PICS SHOW.

THIS IS HOW YOU TAKE CARE OF THE TRICHODERMA: be careful of discarding the dead and diseased mushrooms;lowering of humidity levels; lowering carbon dioxide and increasing air circulation to eliminate
dead air pockets.
Use of clean casing materials lacking undecomposed woody tissue lessen the chance of Trichoderma contamination. Isolated outbreaks of Trichoderma can
easily be contained by one of several methods. Since Trichoderma thrives in acid habitats, raising the pH of the surrounding soil inhibits
further growth. Perhaps the simplest way to raise pH is to cover the infecting colony with salt, sodium hypochlorite or sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) or a solution thereof. Recognizing and treating this fungus in its earliest stages, before many spores are produced, greatly reduces
the risk of satellite colonies spreading throughout the growing room. Mushrooms afflicted with Trichoderma should be carefully isolated. All items coming in contact with it (tools, workers, etc.) should be resanitized. Steam pasteurization at 160°F. for one hour effectively kills the spores of
this fungus.

The point of the website is to keep ppl from discarding perfectly fine cakes (well.. at least not “riddled” with trich)

Maybe you can circle the infected parts from those pics because all I see are a few bruised cakes and I’ve made a couple in my day.

Are you trying to make your post as uncomfortable to read as possible or WHAT?

You’ll have better luck cutting parts of trich off the cake if it in the casing layer than salting  it and leaving it sit in the FC, ime

Faht

If I find a spot of trich in a tub I've found that a field capacity wad of TP soaked in mild (1:20) bleach solution pressed into the spot drastically reduces the speed at which it spreads in the sub.

What's the point of this thread if you already know everything? Or did you just come here with your day old account to tell us how to deal with trich?
You sounds like your nickname.
