Looking good man! I can’t wait for mine to finally show signs of growth.

Yeah, I'm really happy with this. This plate was inoculated 8 days ago. I'm curious BHO, how long ago did you inoculate yours? Do you guys know if sugarcane can be used as a substrate for subtropicalis?

Planning on doing my first transfers of some burma later today. The print I used was from the first grow I ever did. I had forgotten how much I liked them until I was reminded by a recent thread I read. I hope they turn out as good as I remember them.

Spores streaked. Did a plate with Burma and Playa spores and a plate with Burma and Fiji spores mixed too as well as Burma on it's own and each of the others on their own (I go through a lot of plates considering there might be ten more from germ plate before I get to LC or grain). I love the Burmas I did. Impressive big potent mamma jamma's. They don't stink and get right to the point. Generally pour 60-100 plates a week when I'm into it.

Got a major transfer orgy imminent.

Hey Space I see in your pic you have a water bath- I didn’t know you put a whole media bottle in there, I thought somehow it recirculates liquid inside it!  I really want one now!:takingnotes:

Hi agar people. When and if you need to jam swabs into agar do you guys use a flamed tweezer or some kind of tool?

I can't see using a gloved hand being very efficient.

Thanks in advance!

Yes I wrap my tweezers in foil and PC. Probably overkill but I like having sterile tools most of the time especially if they're annoying to flame like tweezers.

you'd still have to flame in-between your use of tweezers tho no?

Found some old plates from 2 summers ago in my 90 degree garage, I can't believe that actually worked

Im probably too lazy but i never use gloves now with the flowhood, and almost all my plates come out clean.
Sometimes i use to noc grain and sawdust bags because i dont want to screw them but honestly i never use gloves.

Maybe dont having hairy hands helps with that.

I skip gloves when doing transfers sometimes, but when I'm dunking a swab there's no reason to risk handling it with bare hands.

I like a set of hemostats. Flame them off and good to go.
