Sorry but I’m not gonna buy the “you have to be careful about what you teach children” line from the folks who are fine with mass shooter drills and arming teachers.

I am saying listen to what these parents are saying. I tend to agree with them. Do you have proof that the people in these video are "fine with mass shooter drills and arming teachers"?

Or are you saying that I am okay with arming teachers? Because I don't think it's something I've ever brought up here. And no, it's not something I'd support because arming teachers is obviously stupid. (a certain South Park episode comes to mind)

I just mentioned that this is something which goes beyond partisan politics and then you bring those unrelated issues into it.

Are our minds so scrambled by the artificial left vs. right divide that we can't discuss issues rationally anymore?

Actually, don't answer that...

For the record, I didn't mean to ask if you knew better than your own child, but the parents in the video. My phrasing was poorly worded.

So basically you are saying you don't want to listen to what other parents are thinking because it's "confirmation bias". Even though their viewpoints may be perfectly valid.

Gotcha

The woman in the video claimed  Coke asked its employees to be less white ?
I bet that isn't True . This why you don't use YouTube nutters as evidence .

That was a big outrage in right wing youtube a couple months back. They didn't like that Coke had a bunch of pro-minority messaging. Leftwing youtube, on the other hand, didn't much like that Coke achieved this by having their (all white) board of directors dress up in traditional African attire.

Somehow that got pushed through the Fox news spin cycle into "Coke wants its employees to be less white"

Actually, if you did two minutes of research you would find that Coca-Cola did actually ask its employees to be less white (which means you and Psilynut2 are wrong): https://nypost.com/2021/02/23/coca-cola-diversity-training-urged-workers-to-be-less-white/

Go and watch the video in the link. It's right there.

At any rate, I think it's stupid all around and don't really give a shit what a company like Coca-Cola tells its employees but since you and Psily offered yourselves as easy to disprove, well, I couldn't help it

I don't know why you guys are jumping over yourselves to defend some megacorp that is grifting off Wokeness in exchange for money and to put out an image which is clearly faker than a used car salesman trying to sell a beater as brand new.

I know this may shock you, but people regularly make political arguments in bad faith. I’m not going to pretend some random parents on YouTube are speaking in good faith, let alone are representative of the population, let alone even have an understanding of what CRT is.

NOR am I gonna find some YouTube video to launder my beliefs through while acting like I’m being some objective analyst for googling “videos of people who agree with me.”

There is a big difference between listening to parents and listening to parents that are saying what you want to hear.

I called you out on it, and two others have done so as well.

Okay, so basically now you've become so cynical that you're not willing to listen to anyone without slapping political labels on them (which may or may not apply) and you're not willing to listen to anything without making it a partisan political issue.

These are black parents with black children and they are against CRT. But they are acting in bad faith. Right.

No wonder this country is so fucked.

I could have taken their argument and repeated it word for word but guess what, it's easier to post an actual video of actual parents and why they are opposed to it rather than type paragraph after paragraph on why something is stupid, not only because it saves me time, but because they are more qualified to speak to it than I am.

CRT is a cancerous ideology and it is meant to divide people. The fact that it is being taught to children should be a major concern. Unfortunately this concern is being ignored because "muh Trump spoke out against it one time so anyone who criticizes it is a racist Trumper so of course CRT is great." This logic is stupid and it just speaks even further to the artificial left vs. right divide which is ripping this country apart. Gee, and I wonder whom benefits from that?

If you're getting that cynical to the point you're not willing to listen to anyone without slapping a label on them then maybe it's time to take a step back from politics. That goes for me too.. politics are toxic as fuck and not good for the mental health. Sad because it didn't use to be *this* bad. I mean it was always bad, but nowadays it's reached a point where it's almost unbearable.

Gee I wonder why the black couple speaking out against CRT has gotten so much traction with the right wing media?

Could it be that they like feeling like they have permission to hate it? It’s the same reason they like Diamond and Silk, or Candance Owens, or Jesse Lee Peterson.

Also lmao at me “making it political.” You wanna keep it from being political? Tell the sudden GOP outrage industry about CRT to shut the fuck up and stop politicizing our childrens’ classrooms and let them learn history.

Here's a proposal for parents against CRT being taught in schools- we will eliminate all political teachings in public schools and stick to pure academic programs and nothing more.  But guess what?  All conservative/religious teachings will also be eliminated as well, in fact, we will take a massive effort to root it out. Ready to sign-up? I can already hear the 'my freedoms are being stolen' narrative from those very same parents.

"This is about what is appropriate to teach to children and what is not."

Yes, that's true! So why not teach them real history instead of the history skewed to fit what people wished happened? Why not teach more diversity about gay people and effeminate boys and butch types women? Why change the history books and omit VERY important info? Why erect statues glorifying assholes that were absolutely the most racist fucks alive and in positions of power? Why teach kids shit like a POV that the parents religious and other preferences are the only way and if they don't like it they can leave or get sent to a boarding school, or beat, or any other heinous acts? Why the fuck do home schooled kids turn out to be socially awkward a lot of the time due to parents "teachings" that are usually, if not always, some religious based horse shit ?(indoctrination/mind control) Why are some schools (FUCKING self proclaimed RELIGIOUS schools!!!)allowed to not allow blacks in (ie: the one fuck faced pence's wife works for) Shall I go on?

They would be on board because they 100% believe that THEIR politics are objective reality.

They think politics is whenever something happens that makes them uncomfortable.

They think the NFL, with anthems and pledges of allegiances and warplane flyovers and giant US flags and war veteran shout outs, only became political when Kaepernick decided to kneel.

They think US public school curriculum of “and the Indians gave us all corn and then moved west voluntarily to give us some space” only becomes political if you say “and we owned black people.”

Hell, Ron DeSantis (my Governor) just signed a law that public schools have to teach about the inherent evils of socialism. Where’s the cancel culture crew on this one? Where’s the pleasantly relatable black couple YouTube video for this? Nowhere, because some moron said “we don’t wanna teach about the history of white supremacy in the US so we’ll just say we have to protect the children,” and all the other racist right wing rubes nodded and said “yep this is a perfect justification.”

That’s why I laugh when chopstick says “how can you say my YouTube video is bad faith? It’s BLACK PEOPLE,” because conservatives literally think using minorities as a tool is some cheat code to winning a political argument.

And that right there is your problem. You think the opinion of parents speaking out against CRT are irrelevant because some right-wing media picked up on it. Boo fucking hoo.

Those parents spoke out against it not because they gave a Fuck about politics, but because they give a fuck about their kids.

CRT should be banned because it is garbage regardless of the political bias of either party. It is being turned into a partisan political issue when it doesn't need to be, turning into this pathetic political bullshit when in reality it's the fact that it is toxic ideology deliberately meant to freshly divide new generations that is the fucking problem. *Politics* should have nothing to do with it.

Oh and by the way, CRT has very little, if anything, to do with history.

The politics have rotted your brain so bad you can no longer see the humanity in people, but only labels.
