Regardless all CRT is saying is that minorities have disadvantages that are built into american society. And sure some minorities will do well and not really experience as many disadvantages or barriers but many will.

That’s part of it, but CRT takes it down a rabbit hole. It applies to society and values, so concepts like objectivity or neutrality become “White”.

Here’s a pretty dry, but good breakdown of it drawing from critical race theorists work.

Goofy youtube asshole's loaded and biased opinion. Or doing my own investigation...

I took the latter.

It's kind of sad he says most people don't have a great undereating of CRT kn the first few seconds the proceeded to give a unilateral one mind viewpoint. A real problem is people getting their opinions from a handful of individuals in the first place.

Okay, so what sources did you read during your investigation? His breakdown considered and incorporated works of multiple authors, so I don’t consider it a one mind viewpoint.

The law schools that teach it publish their curriculum and plenty of professors have wrote extensively about it.

So literally my source is right from the source.

In fact most of CRT has to do with examining the internal struggles within the law system that silenced voices of color. Like Harvard's CRT cources discussing Harvard's old policies.

For example, reading. What can students read? Should schools teach reading past literal my first ABCs level? Even children's books have morals and cultural context. Otherwise, any book is gonna have new cultural concepts. That's kinda the whole point of books: sharing of viewpoints. Kills writing, too.

The entire existence of foreign languages is political.

You're kind of limited to...math. Essentially pure numbers. Everything else has a cultural "why?" behind it.

I think you'd be better off with the opposite approach. Give students every viewpoint you can. Yeah, you might not have all of them, but your job as a teacher isn't to moderate what your students are exposed to, but to find more things to expose them to. I was a little edgelord shit and read quite a bit of mein kampf in middle school. It was weird. Still, a learning experience. Hitler was not a good writer.

In some of those viewpoints, white people are the bad guys. That's kinda what CRT is. Exposure to those viewpoints. It's not about blaming white people, it's just a turn as the bond villain. Hopefully you learn from it, just like any other mistake.

Well, fair and balanced would be the ideal educational environment when it comes to politics and history being taught in schools, yet that hasn't been the case. Why not let private schools, parents and other options fill that role for students?  Public schools have a hard enough time teaching basic subjects, never mind conservative or liberal values.

This would be clearly impossible. Fair and balanced are as attainable as going to heaven if we were to study anything beyond grammar and math- (and not entirely there either) It would require a lot more than abandoning history, literature, sociology, economics, anthropology. We can forget law as well. The hard sciences are more than a little bit tied into social beliefs. The right wing lost the culture war in academia, so they would like to just clean the slate. We can be thankful evolution is accepted, at least for now. This is right out of A Handmaid's Tale.

Academia and science has been pissing off conservative and traditional values since inception. The balance has been established and it’s not looking good for conservative values.

Yes, and they already said they won't be indicting Trump.

In other words, it won't affect him much and will just become another useless soundbite in the media that liberals can use to circlejerk over while changing absolutely nothing of value. Like Flynn & Manafort.

Ah, so now somebody else posts a reasonably well-researched video and once again you just attack the person in the video rather than argue with any of his points directly.

Thanks for admitting that you're not willing to listen to anything that doesn't automatically confirm your own viewpoint and would rather immediately resort to ad hominem attacks.

I've said it before and I'll say it again - Critical race theory is toxic trash that is only being pushed by those in Power because they want to use it to divide people even more than they already have. For them, getting em' while they're young is the best approach.

Do you think the elites in our society give a fuck about critical race theory or apply it to their own lives, or teach it to their own children? Of course not, but they sure do push it on to the masses. Ask yourself why that is and maybe you'll finally be able to pull your head out of your ass long enough to see what's going on.

The Elites will always promote racial division and never address economic inequality, I wonder why?  It's a perfect distraction, it's legitimate (racial inequality) in most cases and it's cheap/free.

I'll bite, just to change it up a little. Now what we want to hear is your detailed reasoning why "they" would go to all the trouble to do this. Clearly this is a major undertaking with huge resource usage and many many people involved. When things like that happen there is a direct benefit to somebody's bank account or ability to procure Russian ladyboys at will. Can you explain just exactly why this decision is such a huge motivation for "them"? Aside from just "well this is what they want to do to us" which makes zero sense without an end game in sight.

Why is it toxic trash? Besides hearing that its toxic trash and confirming your bias with junk YouTube videos.

Can you in your own words elaborate on bow it's going to divide people? Especially when it's really only taught in law school and higher education and isn't in any k-12  program.

They teach Communism in higher education too. Worried about that?

I am in a minority on the shroomery, as I frequently defend the opposing side when they have a point about something or when my side make believes something about them.  I also attack my side if I think they're wrong.  People here get very confused by that and think it means I prefer the other side.

As they should.

The purpose of any education is to create a starting point. A foundation. An idea that someone can run with. Refusing to do that for fear of political backlash doesn't do the student any favors. For one thing, not all students have access to private schools or parents that have enough time/brain cells to go into those topics.

Finally, society needs some kind of consensus to function. If there are fundamental disagreements about the nature of reality, a society cannot exist. We're starting to see that in the US. Relying on family, private schools, or other similarly insular methods of teaching issues that affect society will only create a balkanization of knowledge. Each family (well, at least the wealthy ones) will have their own version of history, which will likely put them in the best light. And that's the only history that members of that family and their subordinates will ever learn.

And that does mean that there will be a group of black people who are taught that whites are the source of all of their problems, as well as the problems of society, and that all white people are bad.
