Why isn't New York on that list? it's #4.

Trump beat Hillary by less than 1% in Florida and lost California. New York is also #4 in Covid cases and Hillary CRUSHED Trump there. Texas is the only one on the top 4 of that list that Trump actually won by any signicant margin, and it was only 10% compared to Hillary winning New York with a whopping 23% advantage.

I don't even have to debate this. Basic math proves this assumption wrong.


New York has the virus under control. The northeast is doing OK, out biggest problem is making sure the irresponsible assholes in the south stay away.

Are you suggesting you are going to base your vote relative to outside influences that objectively have nothing to do with the president? Trump has been on the side of opening things up as soon as we can this entire time.

This isn't an American problem. It's a global problem. Are you also going to suggest that every current world leader is also a failure? To stay consistent with your logic, you're going to have to.

It's not the sign of an intelligent being to base their vote off of circumstances that our leaders have had no control over.... which is why most people will of course base their vote off such. You're welcome to stand firm in your position, but I'm just calling a spade a spade.

Texas, California and Florida have the most trump voters. I’m not going to look it up but I’m 99% sure those three states have the most, in that order although it’s possible California is number one.

Here is what America looks like per capita with covid. The redder the state, the more people have covid FOR their group size. (In other words, if 12 people have covid out of 100, and 50 people have it out of 10,000, the 12 in 100 group has more per capita, as they have a 12% infection rate relative to a 0.5% infection rate in the other group.)  https://us-covid19-per-capita.net/

Lol I think we all understand what per capita is. Louisiana has the highest cases per capita at 2.5%

This is a good map for seeing how many people in each state have been infected.

Is there a graph showing per capita currently hospitalized. That would be the best metric for visualizing the current situation.

I don't think we'll be able to find a map of such a statistic... not that I wouldn't mind being pleasantly surprised to discover otherwise.

Yeah, the two most infected spots are the southeast and the northeast. The NE has a very dense concentration of people so the two areas aren't too far apart in numbers. One area is very republican and one area is very liberal.

The overall spread of the other states looks slightly slanted toward republicans spreading more covid, cuz no masks. By my argument against masks (being MANDATORY) was never because there's no covid, only because we're all eventually gonna get it anyway and I'd rather just blow through it before our economy is collapsed to the point of no return. We're almost there... just a little bit more of a push. We're in for fun times...

Or maybe they will emerge as America's new super-economy after everyone develops immunity and they can focus on rebuilding while the rest of America still plays shrodinger's covid. :lol:

The northeast is the least infected. It was the most infected months ago, but now it is seeing the least number of new cases and new deaths.

Arizona, which is by far the worst state off right now, is still going to have to more than triple their numbers to catch up to NY's current death count PER CAPITA. (NY still has 10x the number of deaths compared to AZ, but NY has a larger population, too.) (Third chart on the link.) And this is assuming NY doesn't have any more deaths, which they will even if they've slowed down.

My take is actually the virus is way more asymptomatic than we thought and most people already got it and we've developed a larger herd immunity than we realize. If AZ and other southern states were just lagging behind larger meccas like NY and Cali, we'll find out shortly.

If they wind up spreading it even more... then the opposite will be true. But I really do think most of us already got it and the more isolated larger areas are getting hit hard in the second wave.

All the evidence shows the asymptomatic rate is about 35-40% (which is actually lower than the flu, which is closer to 50%)

Spain did a large scale randomized and demographic controlled antibody survey of their entire population. Positive results were laboratory confirmed by elisa. They found at the end of may 5.5% of the population had been infected, which was about 8 times the official case count. 67% of cases were symptomatic and the true case fatality rate was calculated to be 1.2%
