Oliver Stone?  WTF are you talking about?  Also, that article doesn't support your claim that the case against Flynn was dropped.  It's still pending.  The Government did a motion to dismiss, but that motion has not yet been granted.  It remains to be seen whether or not it will be dismissed.

Do you think it was ok for the Federal Government to offer to let Stone off the hook if he testified falsely against Trump?

Source or make believe?

SOURCE

Do you think all the Government wrongdoing that was exposed against Flynn (and now Oliver Stone) was ok?

Nevermind, stupid question.  If he were a Democrat, you'd defend him.  But since he's a Republican, you stop making sense.

I haven’t seen any government wrongdoing against Flynn. He pled guilty twice. He’s a convicted felon.

What I have seen is blatant corruption on the part of the president and the DOJ on behalf of Flynn simply because he’s an ally of the president.

How often does a court overturn a conviction based on a guilty plea? It’s one thing to decide a jury got it wrong. It’s another thing entirely to say the defendant got it wrong.

I don’t see how you can get past the fact that either Flynn lied to the FBI or he lied to to the judge.

I know, that came up several days after my article.

This will be decided on 16 July.  How about a signature bet on whether it's dropped or not (I bet it gets dropped)?

He was coerced into a guilty plea.  And that was just part of the wrongdoing.  :cookiemonster:

Do you think he should be prosecuted for lying to the judge like anyone else would or do special justice rules apply to friends of the president?

Flynn’s statement when he pled guilty
Quote:
After over 33 years of military service to our country, including nearly five years in combat away from my family, and then my decision to continue to serve the United States, it has been extraordinarily painful to endure these many months of false accusations of ‘treason’ and other outrageous acts. Such false accusations are contrary to everything I have ever done and stood for. But I recognize that the actions I acknowledged in court today were wrong, and, through my faith in God, I am working to set things right. My guilty plea and agreement to cooperate with the Special Counsel’s Office reflects a decision I made in the best interests of my family and of our country. I accept full responsibility for my actions.”

Was he lying? Does he ever tell the truth?

He was one of the highest ranking officers in the military who was literally responsible for our counterterrorism operations and national security and youre saying he was bullied into a plea and into lying to a judge about his actions under the penalty of perjury?

Get the fuck out of here.

Yes, I said that over 3 years ago.  But then new evidence came out about how he was set up to lie, and coerced to plead guilty to protect his son.  I knew the case would have to be dropped, and even though a Russia-gater judge still wants to keep the Russia hoax dream alive, it will be dismissed on or before 16 July.  I'll make a signature bet on it, but I think you you and Enlil both know you're full of shit, just like you both didn't take my Concord troll farm signature bet.

Yes.  He didn't want his son to go to jail.  But I guess you think that means he's not a tough guy and doesn't belong in the military according to your logic?

He doesn’t belong in the military because he lied.

There is no evidence he was set up to lie. I’m not even sure how that is possible. Did they offer to not prosecute his son? Idk. That’s not coercion. That kind of shit happens all the time.

You still haven’t answered the question. If his guilty plea and elocution was false, then why shouldn’t he be prosecuted for perjury. He took an oath to tell the truth. Doesn’t that matter to you?

Let’s not forget the context of his lying. He was the NATIONAL SECURITY ADVISOR lying to FBI agents conducting a counterintelligence investigation.

It has nothing to do with being tough. I just find it shocking that someone in the intelligence business could be so manipulated by emotional tactics. I wonder if he’d sell out his country if some foreign actor had dirt on his kid.

He’s a weak and dishonorable turd. Lock him up.

I answered that in my last post.  I think he SHOULD have gotten in trouble for lying, until I learned he got caught up in an Government effort to make believe there was something behind Russia-gate.

Here it is in my own words:

He didn't disclose that he asked the Russian Ambassador where he stood on an upcoming UN Security Council resolution on Israel.

"Oh no!  Flynn wanted to know where Russia stood on something related to another country!  He's selling out the United States!!!"  Gimme a break.

I’m going to give you the benefit of the doubt that you actually know what he was accused of and you are lying by ommision. The other lie he was charged with was denying he negiotiated Russian retaliatory sanctions on the United States.

Funny how you left that one out.

Actually, in addition to omitting the lie about sanctions, you misrepresented the facts of the UN vote lie. He didn’t lie about asking their position. He lied about convincing the Russians to vote a certain way.

These weren’t innocent lies. He certainly knew that what he was doing might violate the Logan act. He also likely knew that what he was doing might bring more suspicion upon the campaign in the counterintelligence investigation.

This judge does not seem inclined to vacate the conviction, so it may be up to an appeals court to overturn it.

We all know this will end with his pardon, because a vacated conviction doesn’t mean the next DOJ couldn’t retry him
