Aestheticians who appeared at the hearing testified they declined to wax Yaniv for various reasons, including religious grounds, personal safety concerns, and lack of training when it came to male genitalia.

The tribunal also heard from a waxing expert who testified that waxing female versus male genitalia required different training, and that an untrained person attempting to wax someone's scrotum could seriously injure the client.

The legal advocacy organization Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms represented five of the aesthetician respondents. 

"Self-identification does not erase physiological reality," said Jay Cameron of the the Justice Centre. "No woman should be compelled to touch male genitals against her will, irrespective of how the owner of the genitals identifies."

The ruling also found that Yaniv engaged in improper conduct by misleading the tribunal, by being untruthful, and by engaging in extortionate behaviour and scurrilous attacks.

It was also noted that she brought most of her 15 complaints against women described as "not white," while expressing racial animosity on social media and in her testimony.

Yaniv was ordered to pay $2,000 to each of three respondents.

is that she was attempting to opportunistically try to sue to exploit for money

it seems as tho she went place to place looking for shops unwilling to serve her, then tried to build a case

there are organizations in my city that coordinate for transwomen so that we know where trans-friendly clinics are
Vancouver, as a far more progressive city, likely has such services
she didn't go to 15 shops and keep getting rejected, she prolly went to 40+ shops and made notes of which ones she could try to start shit with

but it backfired on her, and the rest of the transwomen across the planet are the ones that have to deal with the fallout
it won't be treated as "a transwoman used her gender identity to try to exploit people," but as "transwomen try to use their gender identity to exploit people"

my worried face is actually because of an old early 2000s Japanese anime movie
basically the premise was a shadowy cabal of information brokers going back to the medieval ages eventually pull all the strings
do not think it is where information tech is at present

but it is still interesting that generic and otherwise unimportant, yet personal, information about people as individuals
holds more worth than a substance than can be used to produce the energy necessary for the documentation-based society to function in the first place

the very idea that abstract information such as postal codes or phone numbers/area codes becoming almost vital to the targeting of advertisements and tweaking of sales at physical stores
has now spread into an interconnected system where advertisers are trying to predict what customers will want and project it in front of them for digital sales
is a little intimidating, when it is also being coupled with typical family search data and the like

of course, privacy and tracking concerns are where VPN companies and the like make money

Also, more broadly, interesting to me with regards to the recent issue with COPPA and Youtube
given that Youtube didn't deal with the issue by mitigating the data collection portion of children's interaction with their site
just the targeted advertising portion of it
