Deffo easier to spot. Like this one.

Went on a stroll to a golf field and found this one growing alone. Looked around and then all thorought the area for some time but was not able to find a single another one. It's a young one and already white so does it mean that there is not enough moisture in the ground and that this little one is not going to grow until it rains? I am just wondering that this rain we had in the last few days was just not enough for new liberty caps to pop out and all those white single ones i am picking are just leftovers from some time ago.

Srr if i am sounding stupid but i just want to clarify some things out.

na not stupid, literally the type of stuff i speculate about all the time. Someone might've just got there before you and only missed that one!

Anyways all i can say is that on an excellent day the creamy/white examples are big bastard beacons to draw you into decent flushes.

The season is long. Where you find just a few today might well produce a few hundred when conditions are right! Keep hitting it periodically, predicting conditions as best u can, and when conditions ain't quite right you should spread your wings check out nearby fields or just some spot drove by recently that seemed "likely". Why spend 2 hours covering every blade in a field you know can produce decent amount but as slim pickings at the moment when can cover some yards, maybe get less shrooms but ID couple more spots which might pay off big when all the conditions are just right!

happy hunting.

There will still be dew in the grass several nights after a rain.

If you didn't pick it, it would still have been growing.

Been out a few times the last week, my favorite spots are slow to start this year, I suspect the almost biblical
amounts of rain have left the ground too soaked, so I'm going to bide my time. Still finding some in various
locations, today I went up a mountain/hill of around 550 meters and found some quite large ones lurking in
the grass tufts.

Note the monster (2nd from left) in the last group photo, it clocked in at 2.87 grams fresh.

The first one might be a pale variety of one of the inactive Panaeolus species, not sure which though.
Second one is a Mycena species. It would help a lot if you take in situ shots too. Other than that, I suggest
you make separate threads when asking for identification, both because it will attract more attention but also
because this thread is primarily for posting pictures of confirmed liberty cap finds.

Still very nice and favorable Autumn here in Estonia...for some liberty cap searching at the usual fields (and one field that didn`t produce any at lat year).

Here some pics  The one with shroomies on my hand were found all in one tuft / patch :P

And all of them was picked by two people in 3 hours. Around 250-300 I think

It has been a horrible season in my whereabouts so far. Hard to believe it was like +25 celsius just a couple of weeks ago and now the nightly temperatures has been around -2 celsius, daily temperatures barely above the zero. I've been finding some, but yea.. Fuck this weather at the moment.

Found that patch today and left them to grow up. Probably will be killed by the frost, we'll see in a couple of days. The frost also killed or halted the Psilocybe medullosa growth on my yard and in the backyard woods, haven't checked the clearcut area. Found also a tough lonely Pholiotina cyanopus soldier today fighting against the cold. Can only hope for a bit warmer days and nights until it's over.

I'm in the Northern Savonia area, Eastern Finland. I know complaining about the weather accomplishes nothing, but man this is bad. Should be prime of the season going on at the moment. Thankfully it has been above the zero during the daytime so no "permafrost" yet and there's still time until the end of october/early november when the season ends in Finland.

Amazing finds @SideNote, nice to see that they do currently exist in Estonia. I thought that the humidity was still too low, guess not. Now I'm starting to doubt the cow pastures and forest paths, that I have been searching and not finding a single one. Found only the typical co-species.

I guess I should switch it up more.

That's a nice cluster. Did you pick them?

It sucks having a frost like that surprising you. But if it was light enough you still have the chance to find some, I think.

Best wishes for a jolly season! :toast:

Last season I had at least 3 nights with temps below zero before I started finding liberty caps. Here it's always hot untill middle of September and then suddenly we get some nights with frost.

Yea it's a pretty looking cluster. I didn't pick them because most of them were so small, but probably going back to check them today or tomorrow. The unexpected sudden frost is a really bummer, but atleast this morning there's no frost on the ground so hopefully things will improve now. Going to check also the clearcut area for some Psilocybe medullosa this week or next week.

You too have a good season!
