stocking is brutal on your back especially if you have back soreness to begin with like me. the good part about stocking is that your forearms get ripped, which is important these days

ya that half the reason I quit, 5 or 6 hours into my shift my back start killing me when I bend over, makes me not want to do the bottom shelves, if it was only 1 day a week I could suffer through it, no way I could do the 3 days in a row I was scheduled, I slept on it and I still dont want to move lol, kratoms not even helping

LOL, how hard can it be to put groceries on a shelf? You would seriously probably die if you did my job for an hour. There are days where I would carry 500' of wire up 4 flights of stairs all day in 95 degree weather and 1 time I had to dig 75' in the dirt with broken toes. There were more days that I wanted to quit than work, but I kept at it and it paid off. You should have just toughed it out until you got a new job and then you would have a good reference.

how heavy is that? If I could physically carry that Id rather lug stuff up stairs then the constant bending over in stocking shelves

I live on a farm, ive dug my share of 4ft holes for fence post, though never with broken toes, ever hit a root? axebars are fun

Lmao dude you need to take a good long hard look at yourself.  You just bitched out of a shelf stocking job.  I have worked with frail single mothers who can stock shelves at Walmart!  3 days in a row is too much on your back and “kratoms not even helping.” ?!? That makes you sound so pathetic man and I’m not saying this to rip you but seriously you need to attain a work ethic STAT dude

Listen to loph, build some character
“Toughing it out” for this job is as simple as being physically present and doing the bare minimum without it being insulting to the manager.  You shoulda done that and tried to be a cashier and told them about your back injury they will usually try to accommodate you as they never know who will try some bullshit PR law suit etc.

I saw lots of people come and go doing night stock exactly the way he was. I'm not gonna say it's the worst or hardest job in the world but for someone with back problems he wouldn't be the first to not be suited for excessive bending and lifting.

I have back problems.  I quit my stocking job after two months.  What I didn’t do was work 3 days a week and then quit without finding another job.  I went right to UPS delivering shit for the holidays without a lapse in a paycheck

Sometimes life doesn’t care about your sore back man

he obviously has some money in the bank if he quit without having another job lined up. and who cares about references anyway. Ive literally never had someone try and call my previous job. I would know because I use friend's phone numbers.
  stocking is seriously way harder than youd think. harder than any outdoor labor job Ive had anyways... having to constantly bend over with a huge box of jars or laundry detergent, theres no right way to do it

Try stocking a hardware store. Stacking salt. Fertilizer, concrete, all those gallon jugs of everything, boxes full of boxes of nails, fuck hardware cloth always poking out, boxes of paint gallons, 5 gallon jugs of paint, etc...

no but I do occasionally see them in their natural habitat when I visit the grocery store

if you just act normal and don't make any sudden movements they typically will just ignore you as they graze the shelves

Great (ta). Being great, it flows out;
Flowing out means far-reaching;
Being far-reaching, it is said to return.

that stuffs probably a little to heavy for me but I actually enjoyed stocking the 15kg bags of dog food compared to the jars because they wernt in a flimsy cardboard box that shifts and bends when you try to lift it

move like 1k pounds of meat every ten minutes with another person

they fired me for coming in 7 minutes late two times in one week

now I bet they can't even keep someone long enough to do the job
idiots
