What a great start to this years season, I've already collected more in three trips over two weeks than I collected in the whole of last year, and that includes having to leave a patch of 30 plus because a crew of gardeners turned up to plant some bushes. Below is my haul from this mornings walk.

In relation to a couple of the posts above 75% of my finds have come from the garden strips alongside the motorway. Admittedly I have a dog to walk at the same time so probably wouldn't provoke as much attention as someone fossicking by themselves among the gardens, although I've often thought if someone asked I would just say I'm looking for plastic wheel covers to salvage and sell.

Those ones on the left are active? Damn, I walked past a huge patch of identical looking things a week ago. Saw the orange stems and left them D:

The last photo is an interesting phenotype of P. subaerongoisa right?

Pretty sweet haul while tripping hard haha mid Canterbury bush found some of these sweet as purple stained mushrooms too trying to find info on them can't find anything saying they're gonna kill me so might try them. Some massive truffles though too.

How about taking a nice clear picture of the mushrooms in natural light and then making a thread for their identification. They might not kill you but you may wish you were dead if you get acute gastroenteritis. Welcome to the Shroomery.

Don't eat random mushrooms. Just because you couldn't find any information on them being poisonous
doesn't mean they aren't. Making an identification request with photos is your best bet to find out what they are.

A while back I remember finding a doc online that had a guide to shroom identification in NZ... I can't find it anymore. By any chance does anyone know what I am referring to, and can point me in the right direction? :-)

Kapiti Coast way is popping, another good haul most of it from grass, both dried and alive, from the side of a cycle path.

RogertheRetard - that photo on the top left of the group you are calling P.Tasmania, there doesn't appear to be any bluing and the stems are quite yellowy brown, I have seen a lot of similar ones to them but I have never thought them to be psilocybins, the ones I have been seeing generally grow much larger. I am not an expert at identifying, this is only my second season, so my questioning is due to curiosity and wanting to improve my knowledge.
