You are on the right track. I have had success with simply taking the sheets of paper used to lay out 100s of shrooms for drying that were heavily spore printed and then rubbing those spore papers all over fresh virgin woodchipped gardens.

There will always be hunters stripping patches to the point of patch death. I am guilty of it in the past. Getting angry about it isn't constructive. Exploring ways to make large volumes of new public AND private patches each year certainly IS.

My advice: Take 250ml of water and make it boil in a small pot.
          Chop mushrooms and add to boiling water.
          Simmer for 10 minutes.
          Strain and consume.
          Do not consume cannabis for at least 90 minutes after consumption.

I agree about the cannabis and psychedelics not being a good mix, at least for me personally, however I’ve got friends that love it.

Yeah, it's a real shitter, and I do agree with Bobbit about it being a tossup... I've got a whoooole bunch of things going to get my own patches started tho, so hopefully it'll never be an issue again...
