I had success doing this with 8 BRF-cakes tho. They all colonized fine and fast.

I let them in PC for an hour on 15 PSI, let them cool, opened the lids and injected spores on the corners and some drops on top and put the lids back on this Monday. I was a bit careless this time with the PC time so it will be interesting to see if I get contamination.

But do I really need a SAB and a flow hood? I'm trying to grow mushrooms using the minimum possible space and I'm using small unmodified containers to fruit.

Well, there is a reason this stuff exists on here. So honestly it's up to you, everyone on here has had a 90% success rate or above with sab or flowhood. People that dont use that stuff dont tend to do well in this hobby.
Those who follow directions succeed where those who dont.

Just make a sab dude. They work great and u can store it anywhere when ur not using it.

Even store mush growing stuff inside it, just make sure you give it a good alcohol wipe down when you're ready to use it.

There's many ways to make arm holes. Get creative. I don't own a drill.

Get a carpenter knife or box cutter with strong blade, get a 64+at bin, put on wood, FROM INSIDE draw two circles, cut the trace first soft then again a bit harder, careful not to crack the bin. Once you have the holes cut tape the edges or leave how you choose.

You're fighting this community pretty hard with them trying to help you out. It won't be a matter of "IF", but when. Likely next time. A SAB is a $7 plastic bin. You drink coffee? Take a metal coffee can, set it on a open flame (like your stove) and when it's hot just press it into the side of the bin. Bodhi has a write up on it.

I literally use this bin to store everything else when not in use as a SAB. It's multifunctional, like a swiss army knive.

Why you fighting good technique here?
