spawn/substrate questions
    #383947 - 09/02/01 12:20 PM (23 years, 4 months ago)

i have some questions about different substrates.. is using rye grain spawn w/ chopped wheat straw substrate more effective than direct innoc. of verm based substrates?

also what happens if you directly innoculate wheat straw with spores? what about directly innoculating rye grain with spores as opposed to mycelium? and can you innoculate verm subs with a mycelium syringe?

Yes.

Probably nothing for a long time. I doubt hat spores would have a real chance against contaminants. Use rye spawn.

This works also. If you inoculate it with isolated mycelium, you get unoform flushes as oposed to when you inoculate with spores, where you get many strains in 1 jar.

Yes.
