Blue staining mushroom, but I don’t think it’s active.. what is it?

So I found this mushrooms growing in Northern California in the forest in Mendocino. It wasn’t fully matured when I snapped it off the stem, and the stem started staining blue. Any ideas what it might be?

Can you put the cap gill side down on a piece of foil and leave it 5-6 hours and post a picture of the print.
